Pink Eye ?

Last week one day when I picked Sadie up from daycare I was informed that one of the other kids went home with pink eye. She was actually leaving as Sadie was coming but she probably had contact the day before with her. This morning Sadie woke up with her right eye stuck shut with some greenish looking discharge. Her eye is not pink at all though. Do you think it could be the pink eye? She was crabby....well until we fed her some waffles. She was obviously very hungry she at 2 waffles...little piggy LOL.

I would think that if the drainage is green then there is some type of infection present and the only way to clear that up would be meds Of course I think I am the mom of the oldest kids on the board so it has been a long while since I have had do deal with all the wonderful things that day care brings Lol

That's what I was thinking too....and I hate to wait since it's Friday today. My older kids are 18 and almost 16 so it's been a while since I've had to deal with pink eye and other illnesses passed on from daycare. I think I'll call and get her in to get checked. Thanks so much!!

Michelle, I would take her in to get checked. Sarah has had pink eye 3 times already. The first time she was 3 months old. Her eye being stuck shut and the greenish discharge is a good sign that it is probably pink eye. The last time Sarah had it her eyes weren't pink at all but she was rubbing them and had dark circle under her eyes. Sure enough it was pink eye. Pink eye is usually associated with sinusitis which if she does have it would explain the crabby mood. Good luck and I hope she gets better soon. Hugs Teresa

I remember how miserable it was when I had it once. We have an appt at 2:30 this afternoon so we'll get on top of it soon. Thanks for the info!

One of my coworkers ended up with it a few weeks ago & those were the symptoms she had, along with a sinus infection & fluid on both ears. Hope she is feeling better soon.
