Our Anniversary Trip

OK, a little history..... Mark & I met 6 years ago this month on YAHOO personals. Fastfoward to last year & our wedding (June 16th).... we received 2 gift certificates for the Alaska Rail Road for a wedding gift. Well, with us having a one year old, both working full-time, and........ getting ready to list the house for sale, then listing the house (July) We just never took the time to book on the RR. Winter hits, and things pretty much stop due to the weather conditions. So, in April of this year, we had the listing, selling & buying of the house, but........ I got the gift certificates out, and they were set to EXPIRE on June 7th. I decided, I WOULD NOT LET THEM EXPIRE....... WE WOULD MAKE THE TIME TO USE THEM!!!! SO I BOOKED THE TRIP!!!!!!!!!!! We took an over night trip to Denali. The train ride Saturday on the way up was nice, slow, (5 hours) relaxing, peaceful....... we stayed the night in a hotel, and then yesterday at 12:30, we got on the train to come back. It was so nice!!! Hunter stayed the night with Aunt Mary, Uncle Dell and cousins Mikayla (10) and Kendra (8). They flat wore him out!! He had an AWSOME time too!! Glad it all fell into place so well, for us to go and not have worries, just to come back to our projects for the house & life, and work..... -Jamie GOD IS GREAT!!!

Sounds like you guys had a wonderful time. Some times you just have to put everything aside and make time for your self and each other. I'm so glad you were able to go on your trip before the certificates expired. I agree with Jen..... Where are the pictures??? Hugs Teresa

Yes, setting the time asde payed off WELL!!!!! The pics are on their way.... got my disc here & will be diligently working on it today (and probably tomorrow.... and asking for help.....) -Jamie

That's sounds wonderful and I am extremly jealous! Hubby and I were supposed to be leaving for Niagara Falls this Saturday but since Skybus went bankrupt and our flight was cancelled our trip was too! Glad you took advantage of the trip and you all enjoyed yourselves. PS I have a dot on my hand so that I remeber to record the Alaska Experiment tonight for you
