Immunizations
My daycare lady brought this to my attention....
Hunter only has 2 of his series of 3 Hep. B shots. So, I called the doctor office a week ago to see if they just missed recording one on his yellow immunization record. The doctor has been the only one who has seen him, even delivered him in the hospital.
The doctors office called back & said that they only had 2 of the 3 on file in their office, to check with the hospital medical records to see if he was given one in the hospital before he came home with us. I received his medication record in the mail friday after work & it was not there!!!
Today, I am calling the pharmacy, to see if I can get the last of the series (his shots were 8-06 and 10-06) or if it has been way too long, and he needs to have the series started again.
OH HOW I HATE CONFRONTATION!!!!!
I WILL NOT be paying for their screw-up!! It will be bad enough if Hunter has to!!!
I am NOT a happy camper!!

If I recall correctly, he will only need the last one. Even if he has already had three and you cannot find the record on the last one, it will not hurt him (well, other than having to have a shot). I know that if that was the case I would be dead right now from the number of times I've had my MMR regiven for getting it too early as a child and not able to produce the record as an adult. Keep an eye on his other vaccines as well since they are constantly changing the requirements for school. The latest biggie is the chicken pox vaccine. It is now recommended that your child gets two of these although I think our school only requires one at this point. Neither one of my kids were happy to hear the news when they had to get a second one.
Thank you for the info!!! The pharmacy said to go ahead and give him his last shot at his next doctor visit... It will be his 2 year check-up & then get the blood draw for the antibody test, and go from there (hopefully he is done). But if the antibody does not show that he is immune, then ""he just started the series again"" UUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
We'll discuss what the doctor thinks at his visit on the 28th.
Hope your Mother's Day was good!!!!!!!!
