Just curious so I thought I would post here and over on the parenting board.. Was wondering if any of you ladies may have some ideas for me on things i could do to possible help to teach Nate new things. He will be 2 in May and I am just curious to know what are normal things you would try to teach to your child or normal games you would play with your child. I have been spending way less time online because I am trying to be a better mother and not revolve the internet totally around my life and what better way to do it then teach my little boy new things. Any suggestion would be helpful Thanks in advance for your replies and info

Eli and Emi and I sing Wheels on the Bus, and do the hand motions, (great for coordination), also "If Your Happy and You Know It"..We play ring around the rosey, we also play hide and seek...And most of all, we take it as it comes LOL Jen

Thanks for the info guess he will learn as he goes, I mean he learns something new every day and is very smart i hid some of his toys last night and he woke up screaming for them this morning. By the way he was up all night cause of storms this kid loves rain and lighting and would not go to sleep for anything Hope all is well

Sadie also loves the wheels on the bus!! Actually she loves almost any song. It's how she's learning so much. I will try to explain one that we do at her school..... You sit and pat your hands on your lap....saying Sadie's here today, Sadie's here today Then roll your hands like in patty cake and sing yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy then throw your hands in the air and sing Sadie at school we go around the circle saying all the kids names...they just love to hear their own name....at home we do mommy, daddy, brother, sister, all the cats...and even elmo etc...(stuffed toys she has) She never wants to end LOL. She walked to daddy the other day patted on his lap and said Daddy's here today plain as day LOL. She also loves twinkle twinkle little star and absolutely loves old McDonald had a farm....she loves to make the animal sounds and sing eieio...also the abc song she's really starting to sing the letters. Just have fun and remember they don't care what you're doing just so you're spending time with them.

Michelle That sounds too cute!! Sounds like another thing with Eli and Emi is I say to him who is Johnny, he says "Daddy"..I say whos Jennifer, he says "Momma", I say whos Emi, and says "Sissa"...And we go on and on...That way he can tell someone our names if GOD forbid he ever gets away from us...And he loves the Barney song also, and also Calliou.. Awesome idea Jen....we've started to try to teach her our names but she's not catching on....I'll try this...a game usually works much easier. Thanks for the idea. I don't know if you guys have the Noggin channel there but Sadie loves it.....there's shows like Dora, Wow Wow Wubsie, Oswald, Jack's Big Music Show......if I need to get something done I'll turn it on and she is happy for a while. We did watch Alvin and the Chipmunks and she sat throught the whole thing......well minus the whole taking her clothes and diaper off for a bit. LOL

Ohhh I'm going to have to look and see if we get Sprout. Sadie will run around singing wow wow wow...when wubsy comes on. And of course backpack backpack for Dora....we bought her the purple plastic backpack...she loves that thing. She also says Oswald and weinie....lol it's funny how quick they pick these things up. She sings the song for Jack's big music show....mostly she gets out Jack and show lol. She loves moose and Zee too. We've been working on the colors in Spanish with her thanks to Moose and Zee. Sometimes I worry about letting her watch tv but ya know it's not like she sits there all day and at least it's something educational.

Eli and Emi get TV time a few times throughout the day....Its not like they are there from sun up to sun down..And I heard it from our PED when we were talking and I told her that Eli got a TV w/dvd player built in for his birthday..She started in on the whole TV and obesity and yada yada yada..I told her that he isnt there all day, but he does watch it....I think Noggin and Sprout are GREAT channels!!
