Long-Going to be an interesting camping season this year

Good Morining!!!!! With the snow melting away up here, I am more & more looking foward to going out camping. Let me reflect on last year. We bought our cab-over camper and went out the very first time for Mother's day weekend. We used to tent camp. Hunter was just about to turn One Year when we started out last year. We used a pack-n-play for his crib. We would break down the table and set it on there (that bed is still pretty high-up), and we could keep him fairly conatined. Then we would get up on the foward bunk, and close the curtin. I also think he will be a WAYYYY better rider in his car seat than last year, he understands more!!! He has been out of his crib & in a 'big boy' bed since Janurary. This year..... I think that he would climb over the side of the pack-n-play and fall even farther!!!! We have a railing for toddlers that slips between the mattress & box sping. I think we should use this. DH is under the impression that Hunter should be in the pack-n-play.... I'm SOOOO thinking.... 'what a nightmare' I'll definately keep you all posted on if we get any rest at all while on our first trip out!!! And if I want to go capming again this season!!! HEE HEE Any experineces/advice?? -Jamie

Oh I agree with you. We go camping and canoeing alot. I am so excited to go this year and kinda scared to. I already have Janielyn's some of those rash guard swimsuits, vest and a seat to keep her secure in the canoe. She loves the bath water but kinda curious how she will react to river water. You know it is much colder. lol lol We shall see. I plan on using our pack and play for her to sleep in to. We go tent camping. Although I am hoping that within the next 5 years or so we can afford a very small camper. I can not even wrap my brain around all that I will have to pack for her. lol lol Do you know if those swimmer diapers are for smaller kids. She will only be say 8 months in June. Also do you recommend those? I know they are prob expensive. Denise

We bought Sadie those little swimmers diapers and she's barely 20 lbs. We used them when we stayed in a hotel and went swimming. They worked wonderful. We do tent camping too.....I think this summer is going to give me a run for my money. We have a very small car and I'm thinking we may end up leaving the pack n play home because there won't be room for it. I know we for sure have the long weekend of the 4th of July planned out but that one is at a resort with my family so we won't be tenting it. I am sure we'll have at least a couple before that. It'll be interesting to say the least. My husband said she should be old enough to bring a sleeping bag and she can sleep between us but I'm afraid she might wake up and want to wander and we might not hear her. Of course I'll probably not get any sleep while we're there LOL.

Marsha, Thanks for the compliment. I finally got a picture taken of me...now I'll have to get one of Sadie together and have you help me get it so it flashes. I am computer illiterate sometimes LOL. We're doing good...thanks for asking. I've been really busy though with work and all. Looking forward to a week off next month.....I haven't had that much time off in a row for a long time....well since maternity leave if that counts. Glad to have read your posts and see Nate is healing up so well. He sure is a fighter.

That's just part of what I have enjoyed since I got out on my own when I was in my late teens!! And a BIG perk for Mark, (he is a big hunter, fisher, trapper, camper)when we met. I enjoy being in the woods!! It's GREAT to me!!! -Jamie
