Kayden is 7 months old today. For the last month I have tried UNSUCCESSFULLY to get him to eat solids. He spits them out everytime. Except chocolate.
I don't know what to do. I never had this problem with my other kids. They didn't like baby food so I just mashed what we ate for them, but Kayden won't even eat that. Believe me, he's not starving....he weighs 22 lbs. The only way he'll eat his cereal is if I make it thin enough for a cereal bottle. UGH!!!!! I don't know if it's a texture thing, or a taste thing, or what. I am so frusterated. I really want him to start eating regular meals with a few bottles in between. I'm already giving him apple juice in a sippy cup and that seems to be going OK. Because of his weight, his dr isn't worried, but this is the time babies "learn" how to eat and Kayden is NOT cooperating.
Any ideas???

Have you tried the juice in cereal rather than formula? If he really likes the taste of the juice, it might encourage him to eat more of the cereal. Try making the cereal the normal way except thicker, take some of it out and put some juice in it to make it a little thicker than the consistancy he's used to but still watery. My sister had to do that with one of the girls. Also, the other girl hated rice cereal so she always gave her oatmeal. Do you change up the cereals?
If he's not interested, he will be sooner or later. Some just don't take to it right away.
