I was lurking on the main message board and saw this post. Wanted to post it here incase some of you don't make it to the main board and may be interested. I have never ordered from this sight before but was going to look into it. Puritan is a GREAT vitamin site!! I had my surgery down in Tacoma, Washington, and I met Michell. She started her own business www.vitalady.com Let me tell you, I shop her site becuase there is SO much on the market for protein!!! I am lactose intolerant due to my WLS and I need low to no sugar and I need 30 grams of protein per shake. well, if I go into GNC, I get confused BIG TIME & usually walk out empty handed from all the confusion, well, Michelle's site makes it easy for me in so many ways.... She pretty much carries products specific for us WLS patients, low to no sugar, high protein per serving & usually no milk products!! and she has samples of things, for like $2.00, so you can "try before you buy" I mean. who wants to invest $30.00 in something thay will only use one time beacuse it does not taste good to them? ( I have been there & done that) ****just my opinion**** -Jamie

Hey Jamie, Thank you so much for posting her site again. I do remember a while back I had ordered some samples from her but then lost her website. I was so mad because I had really like dealing with her. I really need to get on the ball again as far as my protein is concerned. My whole weight issues are driving me crazy. My doc is ordering a blood sugar test (again) because my last one said my blood sugar was really low plus I gained 15 freakn pounds in 2 weeks. Now tell me how the he** does that happen. Doc said it was either due to my blood sugar or my thyroid. Thyroid problems run in my family so that's what I'm blaming it on. It's just really depressing because I've been working so hard since I had Sarah to get down to goal and then to weigh and see that I went up instead of down. Makes me want to scream!! Sorry for the short vent but this really is driving me crazy. I also found out that I have an ulcer and the meds they gave me for it is just making it worse. All this happened after I had Sarah but as long as she is healthy that is all the counts. I can handle my problems just don't want baby girl to have to deal with any health issues. Okay, I'm really sorry now... I did not mean for this to turn into a vent post... LOL I'm done now and will return to my happy self. Hugs Teresa

VENT away, girlfriend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No problem with that here!! I hope that it is not your thyroid, just MEGA bloating water weight!! HA HA HA Is there anything they can do for your ulcer?? My mom takes "the purple pill" Nexium, she has had so many problems with ulcers, that is the one that works for her, and she has tried them all! Any time you wanna vent, go for it! -Jamie & Hunter

Hey Jamie, Thanks for listening and letting me vent. I feel bad when I vent about problems I'm having because I know there are so many others out there who have it ten times worse then I do. I have no idea what they are going to do about the ulcer because nothing they've given me has worked yet including Nexium. I've been telling my doc the whole time that I don't think an ulcer is the main problem. I had my gallbladder taken out in Oct 2004 but the pain (attacks) I'm having now (that they are blaming on the ulcer) feel just like my gallbladder attacks did. At first they thought it was my panceras because it will have the same signs as gallstones but the test came back okay with the panceras. It just has me wondering because my sister who had WLS 3 weeks before me is having the same pains. She had her surgery done by a different surgeon then me and had her gallbladder taken out last year. I just thought it was strange that we are having the same problems. Maybe it's a family thing... LOL As far as the thyroid thing, that does run in my family. My sister and aunt (on mom's side) are both on thyroid meds. Everytime I've had my tested it's come back boarderline so I never had to take meds for it but I was also suppose to get it tested every 6 months. Well I moved here from SC 2 years ago and haven't had it tested since. I know, bad me. I'm suppose to be going back to my doc to have it tested along with my blood sugar but I just haven't made the appointment yet. Speaking of MEGA bloating water weight... (yes I have that issue too..LOL) My legs swelled up really bad about a month ago and my doc sent me to the hospital to have an ultrasound done on them to make sure it wasn't a blood clot any where. No blood clot, which is good, so she gave me perscription water pills... talk about feeling like your living in the bathroom! It was worse then when I was pregnant with Sarah but the swelling started going down. Oh well, one of these days they will figure out what is wrong with me besides my mental issues..
