Hi all, Im 4 wks out monday and I cant help but wonder if Im loosing the way I should. I've lost 23lbs so far but My dr didnt put me on a liquid diet like I see that many other Drs do I went right to pures which is more like soft what I do is blenderize anything I am going to eat so its easier to digest but I wounder if thats why I havent lost more. Im happy w/ what I've lost dont take this the worng way I never would have lost 23lbs in 4wks I was just wondering. WHat do you think? Michele

You are where you need to be. I am 10 years post-op, and I was never on a liquid diet or pures food. I was on solid food and protein shakes since day one. I was a slow looser. I did not loose any weight in the first 2 months, however I lost 102 Lbs in the 1st year. I think you are on target and doing very well. As long as you keep following all of your doctor's and nutritionist directions without any manipulation your are doing fine. Good luck in your new journey, Dani

Hi Michele, Don't worry about it. The post surgery diets are not so that you can loose weight. They are so that your stomach can heal. Actually the more solid the food, the longer it stays in your pouch, the more you feel full, the less you actually eat. So I would not worry that your doc said right on to pures, he knows best. Just make sure you are following his rules, eating the right foods, taking your vitamins/supplements, drinking your water but not during or around meals and the weight loss will follow. Krista

My surgeons told me they like to see 4-6 pounds a week. More or less they are concerned. So you are really doing great! Heidi L-S
