GM Trish and PA!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!

I started my day with breakfast in bed. I am up and dressed waiting to go to become a mommy again to another furbaby. We are picking him up today. He is a lilac point siamese.

The rest of the day will be spent acquainting the other cats with the new one. It should be interesting...

Have a great day!!
Love, Beth

P.S. My Dad is in the hospital with pneumonia so please say prayers for him to recover. He is 83 years old. Thanks!!

Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms, including the Moms of Furbabies.

I am in Pittsburgh, on my way home from a week in Michigan visiting with my Munchkins, and especially the new baby, Franklin Michael.

I will have breakfast with my son, Sean, and then get on the turnpike and head home.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Hugs,
Trish

Congratulations Ida,
I am bringing up the rear today.  I spent the last week in Michigan helping my daughter with the new baby and older kids.  I was rarely on my laptop, so I was not able to check in here.

I am now in Pittsburgh, on my way home.  I am exhausted and not feeling too well.  Hopefully, I will feel better in the morning.

Hope everyone has a blessed Mothers Day.

Hugs,
Trish

Good Afternoon Ida and PA!

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR DEGREE!! You have SO much to be proud of! Even through all the house stuff you kept on going! You are one STRONG woman!! I really admire you!

Today I got to sleep in, then got dressed and went out to a local thrift store to try and find Dee an outfit for her spring concert on Tuesday. The school actually told us what they should wear. Well not only did I get an outfit for her, but I got a really cute denim jacket for her with a matching denim skirt all for UNDER $20!! YEAH ME!!!! Came back had lunch, gonna do some cleaning, straightening, put away laundry and such. This evening is up in the air.

Have a great day!
The weather is perfect.

Love, Beth

Ida, MANY congratulations on the degree! You have worked hard amid some incredible cir****tances to get through it. Now, tell us that you are kicking back for a while, ok?

I was out fairly early ths morning to get a few groceries, fruit and veggies, etc. Now home, browsing the newspaper, and off to work by 1 p.m.

Get this - last night I went to a local bar (and I don't drink) to hear a hiphop singer (and I really don't listen to hiphop very often). But he is a youngish guy with incredible talent that I have met thru work and a lot of work folks were there to support him. Kind of fun.

I admit that I feel edgy about the holiday tomorrw and want to make a plan for the day. It has never been my favorite holiday, even when the kids were around. And this year I am pretty much on my own for the day. Right now the possibilities include church a farmers market, and maybe the beach for a couple of hours. I could deal with that, right? And I did buy myself a pair of earrings as a mothers day gift. (Also might get a phone case since I have totally destroyed 2 of them in short order....but want to get the "exactly" right one!)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Topic: Looking for Chester County PA penpal
My procedure is sleeve gastrectomy and I am having my surgery on May 31, 2012.  I would like a local Chester County PA penpal if possible.  I choose to have my surgery at John Hopkins rather than at any PA hospital since I am a self pay patient and MD controls hospital costs unlike PA and John Hopkins is a highly reputable hospital.  This means that I am unlikely to have time to drive to John Hopkins to meet with the support group very often.  So, I am looking for local support.

Mothers day is my least favorite holiday. For years I would work myself silly trying to make it a great celebration for the other moms in my world....lol, including the neighbors!... But never enjoyed it myself. This year I am on my own to make or break the day so I will probably go to church, a farmers market, and then talk to the kids in the phone.

Today...off to work then may browse around a little local festival for a few minutes instead of just coming straight home.

I DO wish all the moms out there a great weekend, by the way!

Topic: Power of Choice - Refocusing our Thought Processes
My thoughts guide my day. Noticing how I awake can help me save the day.
-- Kelley Vickstrom

We may envy friends who seem happy and peaceful. Why aren't they troubled as we so often are? The fact is, we can take actions to become more content too. One of the simplest is to ask our Higher Power for a positive attitude before we even throw back the bed covers.

Being in charge of what we dwell on is easier than we might imagine. We can practice the art of focusing our minds on the positive. Begin by stopping a thought, any thought, in mid-sentence. Focus on a blessing that is obvious today. Anytime an unhealthy thought surfaces, drop it, and replace it with a blessing. This can become a way of life if we make the choice.

We have felt enough pain and experienced enough harm. Today can be much better. And it will be if we carefully select our thoughts.

I am as happy as I truly want to be today. No one can steal peacefulness from me if that's what I really want.

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen
