Jill,
Congratulations on your surgiversary and your soberversary. Your journey reflects the reality of life with all of its ups and downs. I can relate to your description of year 1 and how great it was. Making changes is hard because we can only change ourselves and not others. I also am a proponent of 12 step programs and realize that there are healthy and unhealthy people in any recovery group. Initially I looked at some peole from Barix and OH as having it all together. Then I realized that unless you deal with your problems losing the weight will not remove them. I have a few people that I consider to be friends from the WLS community. I have been hesitant to get too close to many people because of the changes in my life and not being a trusting individual. My gut was right to tell me to take it slow and gradually get to know people over a period of time. Today I feel that I am in a better place to reach out for help and to reach out to others. I hope to see you on Saturday at Barix. I haven't been good on getting to Saturday support group but I am going to try very hard to be there. Take care.

Topic: RE: Thursday - Whatcha Eating Today?
I can't believe how some days just fly by and I don't get one second to check in on this thread!
B: coffee (I know I know I know)
L: was at an all day math meeting and we went out for lunch - tried eggplant parm... well, it wasn't a good choice for me because it just wouldn't stay down.
D: Playing it on the safe side and doing a protein shake to see if I can get it to go down
vitamin: done
water: only 51 ounces (so far)
exercise: just cleaned the house and ran up and down the steps a hundred times doing laundry and running out to pack the camper before we take off for the weekend - nothing formal but it is good enough for right now
I can't wait for school to be over so I can have a few minutes to think and relax!

That's great! My appointment isn't until July 18th. So, if you don't mind updating me when you go, that would be greatly appreciated. My SO had his done about 7 years ago, but Dr. Colella did his and he is no longer in PA to my knowledge. So, I have to go with someone I don't know. I have also read the reviews and everyone was very positive, so I think we made the right choice! Good luck!

Jill,
To me, you are a true model of what this journey is all about. Ups, down, sharing, support, and being real.
While we may not see each other outside of meetings, I do consider you a friend. I care about you, I appreciate you, and I feel that you are open and honest.
I wish you many, many more years of a happy healthy life- one day at a time, of course.
Sorry I will not be at Barix to celebrate with you. I will be out of town.

Good Morning Ida and PA,
Ida, I hope you feel better soon with your back. I have had back issues for years, and have gotten relief from a pain specialist's office, where I get occassional cortisone shots and rhizotomies, and that helps a great deal. It might be worth looking into. In my case, I have herniated discs with nerves being pinched.
Beth, I hope the doctor can help your daughter. You are doing the right thing with going by your Mom instinct. When my kids were younger, my husband's job had more flexibility with his hours, so he did the doctor stuff.
I had a rough day yesterday, with a killer headache. I think it was from the anti-viral medication. Today things seem better.
I had to have the cable guy come and switch out my DVR/cable box, because some of my channels were messed up.
The rest of my day I'll try to get some laundry put away, and sweep my floors. It's so nice, I'll also take a walk with Utley. He's been a little needy lately, always wanting to sit on my lap. A walk will be good for both of us.
I hope everyone has a blessed day.
Hugs,
Trish
