Welcome to the PA OH Board and I am an "alumni" of Barix. . . had my surgery there in 07. . . great place to have it and they are the kind of facility that once you are a patient of their's you are one for life and Dr. Marymor is an absolutely wonderful surgeon!
Hopefully, all your pre-testing is done, because getting the approval is only a part of the journey, once I got my approval, I then had to have a series of clearance testing done, but each insurer is different and age plays a part in some of the testing required. Should you have your surgery laproscoply done, you will be up and about, feeling good in short order, most people get six weeks off and it's not a bad idea, but if you don't have a strenous job (lifting and the like), you can go back to work relatively soon afterward, some people go back as quickly as couple of weeks, but again, everyone is different. The point of making a decision to have this surgery and "getting it done" is the hardest part of things for most of us. So practice both patience and being proactive and you will get things done in the time it is meant for you to have your procedure.
Anything we can do to encourage and support you, please come back and ask away, as someone is always willing to jump in and offer advice, based on their own personal experiences.

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Prayers are being said, but as I've well learned through my own experiences, things have a way of happening just at the right time, so whatever happens will be for the right things to fall into place. The only problem with this process, is often we get scared when we are walking through that hallway to the next place. . .

Mike may well be unemployed by the end of the week. I would give it about a 99% chance. Depending on how it goes down, he may or may. It qualify for unemployment benefits. He has out out feelers for a job in FL....but that is not a sure thing at this point.
The business gyrations at his company have been painful for the last year or so. He is the last of the original mgmt team...new investors are at the helm now, and while they sing his praises with one hand, they out him into no win situations with the other. It is taking a toll on him emotionally, mentally, and physically. So it may be in his best infest to move on, but he certainly didn't plan to leave on a down note.
The good news is that we hadn't yet signed a lease for his apartment.
I head back to FL tonight. Keep us in your prayers!

I am so happy that you turned 3 yesterday. Before you know it I will also be hitting that milestone. Sometimes surgery seems so long ago and other times I can't believe that these 3 years have gone by so quickly. Glad that everything turned out okay on Saturday night. I'm sure that you won't forget that night for a very long while. Hope that we get a chance to see each other at some point this summer. Good luck with the end of school. Take care.
Love, Donna
I'm so glad you liked Zumba. It is my favorite form of cardio.
If you go on zumba.com and put in your zip you will find so many classes in the area. It will also tell you the cost. Each instructor has their own routine. I love the music.
Enjoy!

I'm new to OH and thought I would take the plunge and post. As I am waiting for pre-certification approval -- and becoming more and more anxious each day -- I thought someone out there might have helpful insight about this process. Ah, well... The basic information here is that my pre-cert request was submitted to KHPE on May 29th. I am a teacher and am hoping to have RNY at Barix with Dr. Neil Marymor just after school is over. I know the 800 number to Keystone "by heart" and I've gotten a bunch of different answers to my questions from their customer service representatives over the past few days. I'd be able to be a little more patient with the insurance process except that I have a couple of trips planned this summer and two kids that I'm trying to finalize camp plans for. On or around the 18th is the best time for me and I suppose only time will tell if this plays out as I would like.
Thanks for "listening" and have an excellent evening!
Lauren :-)

I am so glad to hear you are making so,e progress in your packing. I remember the chaos of packing my upstairs apartment. Utley lost a lot of his running area as the boxes piled up each day. I put him in the kennel the actual day of my move. Petsmart has what they call "Doggy Daycamp" which is open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm, and it is $20. The staff there loves Utley, and he actually pulls me to the hotel once we are in the store. When I was in the hospital, my sister kept Utley, but put him in daycamp with her dogs, when she went to work. It helped tire him out.
I got some cleaning done today. Got my living room and kitchen floors dusted and mopped. Then my hall and bedroom vaccuumed. Cleaned up lots of dog hair.
Tonight is my date with the Phillies. Hopefully, they will get the game in, but it has started to rain in the first inning.
I totally appreciate what you mean about cyber friendships. I have made phone contact with some friends I met on a Christian blog site. I have also met a friend from Obesity Help's Over Fifty Forum. Of course, I met some Barix friends from here at support groups. I wanted to get back there on Saturday, but I am contagious with the shingles, and didn't want to expose anyone who is not immune, or whose immune system is compromised.
Gotta scoot.
Hugs,
Trish
