Hi Donna,
I'm glad you like your job. I've thought about applying to substitute teach, but there are some weeks when I'm helping my daughter by watching some of the Munchkins for an hour or two practically every day. I much prefer doing that to subbing.
I have to say, I'm saddened to see what has become of our PA Forum. I'm so grateful for all of the regulars that were here when I first joined OH. It's been so disappointing to watch it deteriorate.
I'll continue to check in.
Hugs,
Trish

Jeannine,
I can't help you out because I live in Philly and have never had any plastics done. Just wanted to wish you luck with your quest. If the medical reasons warrant the surgery I would think that you could get it done. What type of insurance do you have? Can you get in touch with the hospital where you had your WLS and see if any one there could be of assistance? Just a few thoughts to put out to you. Best of luck. Take care.

Hi Trish,
I only check in on this board about once a week now. I love my job as a school secretary but by the end of the day I am exhausted. Other than that life is going well for me. My weekends are filled with laundry, food shopping and getting ready for the school week. I am going to make a concentrated effort to reach out to at least 2 people every weekend either via e-mail or phone just so that I stay connected and don't isolate again. It's so easy because I am interacting with tons of people every day but not making any deep connections. Anyhow - hope that the grandkids are doing well. I can imagine that they are growing up fast. Always good to see a familiar post on the board. Take care.
Donna
I need some information, help, guidance, support ... anything. I need to have a Panniculectomy but have not reached my goal weight.. I had my surgery back in 2005. Does anyone know of a plastic surgeon who would do skin removal before hitting goal? I live in Uniontown PA but not too far from Pittsburgh.... Thank you inadvance...

Hi! I am doing great! How about you? I have not been to any of the support groups since my surgery. I noticed before my surgery that there were not too many sleeve patients at the meetings. Do you go? Are there more of us?

Hey PA Peeps,
I did not fall off the face of the earth living here in Michigan. I just accidentally killed my laptop, and couldn't replace it till a couple of weeks ago.
I tried, mostly in vain, to post on the Over Fifty Forum, from my iPhone, but it was such a hassle, I didn't bother trying to check in here, or the Christianity forums.
I did post a rather lengthy reply to Jan, on her recent post, so check that out.
Hugs,
Trish

Hi Jan,
I've been off OH altogether due to a computer breakdown, and replacement. I'm guessing it was close to two months. For awhile I was able to check-in to my Over Fifty Forum, which as Laureen said, is a very encouraging site.
I do keep up with you on Facebook, and love that.
I did have the 40 pound regain back between 2007 and 2009, but was starting to seriously lose that till this past summer. My diet took a huge downturn, as well as my exercise, as I struggled with gall bladder issues. I did get that taken out in August. Now, I'm trying to build back up as much as possible, while the weather stays decent. Once it gets cold, I'll see about joining the YMCA, and get involved more seriously. I just have to get through the holidays budget wise. My daughter does have a treadmill, which I'll see if I can get on it in the meantime.
Thanks for checking in. I still try to check in here, even though I am legally a resident of Michigan now. My home for 51 years was Bucks County, mostly Levittown. I do love it here, especially being so close to my grandchildren.
Hgs,
Trish

Hi! I had my surgery (sleeve) by dr mccloskey at Magee too! May 17. How are you doing? Do you go to any support groups?
Sharon, the over eating and eating all the wrong things is really plaguing me. I decided to reach out to a therapist who deals with obestity and eating disorders and also understand the surgery . I have only had one meeting but i am very comfortable already. I still ate a half a box of good and plenty and got that dumping feeling from all the sugar. UGH.. I saw a GYN doc today for my annual visit and as soon as I walked into the building there was a sign that they now have a Bistro down stairs as I was going into the elevator I thought hmmm I need to check that out to see if there is something I would like. I left my appointment got in the elevator and went straight to the parking lot. I was so proud of myself until of course after I went to the grocery store and got a big salad and some macaroni and cheese.,. what am I thinking. even as I heat it up I say to myself I should throw it away, but why throw away perfectly good food so I ate it , It as definatly more then to 2 cups allowed I ate it pretty fast and it was made with white pasta.. I don't know about your doc but mine says no white anything,, pasta, rice, potato and sugar. then at around 6 i ate this huge salad and even now almost an hour later i feel ucky!!! I should have just gone outside and walked. I wish I had a pal that also had the surgery near where I live so we can together talk these things through and would walk with me maybe that would give me some encorgement.
