had a scare
had my stress test done yesterday.
i hope i never have to go through that again. I had a headache throughout the whole thing. 2 drugs to increase the heart rate and one to lower it... my appt was for 9:45am and i didn't get home until 8pm
my scare came about 10 mins after I was done. I got light headed n dizzy afterwards. I ended up in ER. I was white as a ghost and my lips turned white. they ran blood tests, my heart enzymes were high... they ran them again 3 hrs later and they were still high, so off to card lab for catherization I went. They did that cause with my surgery coming up, Anesthesia dr would NOT wanna put me under for a major operation with questionable heart problems.
I am glad they did the cath. it showed NO blockage at all in my heart arteries.. plus they said I had a beautiful heart. The cardiac drs also commended for going through the program and taking care of myself. I told them how much weight i lost since new years and that the reason why I am doing this is to prevention. I do not wanna end up like my dad's side of the family with major heart problems and other health related problems.
They are letting my bari surgeon know about the outcome of yesterday. I told the cardiac dr that they should have a recover area for people getting stress tests done so that what happened to me doesn't happen to anyone else. That is scarey to go through something like that. I am glad that the er at Geisinger acted quickly and came to my aid over in the advanced med building lobby. I got good treatment from the ER...
only thing bad about this is I can't make my cake pops for our family reunion tomorrow... i use my right hand to use the frosting bags.. they went through the artery in my right wrist for the cath.

God is good. One thing I do find very comforting when getting ready for this surgery is all the precautions that are taken.
Both my hubby and I have had the surgery, both of us had various medical conditions that had to be monitored, and we are both pre-surgery medication free and so much healthier now.....
Looking forward to hearing of your continued journey!!!
