Inattentive ADHD....Now what???

Beth the diagnosis is the first step and a good one. I did not get diagnosed with my learning disabilities until College. Many years or trauma self esteem and self abuse issues were almost too much to over come. But I can tell you that diagnosis sure was a relief. So it might make her feel relieved that this is something outside of herself that she cannot control and that is not her fault.

So many behavioral options to help with it and medictaion if needed. I see this all as a good thing. Good luck

I am so sorry that you had to wait so long for a diagnosis. Back when we were growing up they didn't know as much as they do now about learning disabilities. Not that that is an excuse, but just the way it was.

We spoke with her yesterday and let her know that this is NOT her fault, that there was nothing that she could do or not do to have prevented this. The school will be working with her on coping strategies and self esteem issues.
