Wednesday Roll Call
Lisa –
I was a latch key kid with only one parent, and look how great I turned out?!
Lol, seriously though, you are doing what has to be done to provide for your family. My mom worked 2, sometimes 3 jobs while I was growing up. Yes, it was hard sometimes. Yes, I was lonely sometimes. And yes I got into trouble sometimes.
(Remind me to tell you the hand in the mixer story one day.)
But I also learned responsibility. To take care of myself, and later my brothers when they came along. And how to appreciate the times she didn’t have to work and we were able to be together. There were times when that would only be once or twice a week, but we made the most of those times talking and laughing.
I also knew that no matter what job she was at all I had to do was call and she would drop everything and come running. No job was more important than us. It didn’t even have to be a life and death situation. I can remember being upset about a some silly boy and her calling me out of school, calling out of her job, and spending all day with me. Because I needed her.
Now on the flip side. There did come a point when the boys were little and I was in high school. She stretched herself too thin and it started showing. Whenever she was home she was exhausted, and well, cranky. My brother Aaron, at 7 or 8, looked at her one day and said “Why are you always yelling at us?" and started to cry. She quit one of her jobs the next day. No amount of money was worth that.
I know you feel guilty, and I know that I can’t stop you from feeling that way, but trust me – she’ll be fine. She is going to grow into a strong independent woman just like her Momma. She is going to see the example that you are setting and pass those lessons on to her children.
Love you sweetheart.
Going to call my Mommy and tell her I love her!

Returned from a wonderful week away at Myrtle Beach with family and friends, We got to take our niece and nephew with us and they were angels all week. We spoiled them and had so much fun with them. I was grateful that Dennis agreed to take them and their parents let us take them. We also got to spend time with Ma Ruth (dennis' mom) I wish she was closer because she is an angel. Dennis and I also got to spend some time reconnecting which we had gotten away from at home because life is so busy.
Once home life resumed so we had a quiet week so far last night we went out to dinner then came home curled up watched Bridesmaids together. Which was nice to do just the two of us. Then to bed which has been glorious to sleep with windows tossed open.
We caught up on all our mail from vaction it was fun we had all kinds of fun invitations for up coming fun events for wonderful people in our lives Bat Mitzvahs and weddings. The fall/winter is going to be a fun busy time for us can not wait.
Today I am up need to shower then I am off to visit a very good friend who is celebrating her 6th surgiversary today. Think will stop get her flowers to celebrate and then spend some girlfriend time together.
Life is good!
Happy Wednesday all.
Still trying to get into this two jobs thing...plus with all the OTHER things going on it is getting to be a real challenge!
Ida, I am sending you strength and motivation...
Today I work both jobs, then come home, make dinner, hubby is picking up the girls at hebrew school. Then homework, shower, relax and BED!! Haven't been sleeping well I think in part of my lovely Reba cat sleeping at my feet EVERY night!! If I move and hit her she bites or scratches me, OY!
