gallbladder surgery?
My son, who is stuck in a hospital in Carbondale, IL, after a horribly-gone-wrong road trip with friends, while I am home in Philly, had to have gallbladder surgery yesterday. It was done laparoscopically, but he is having a lot of pain, refuses to walk (which we all know should be done after surgery), and cannot be discharged yet. I am reaching at straws to feel connected to him in some way, as it is impossible for me to get to him right now.
Bear with me. I know I'm not making sense. I don't really have a question. I think I'm just having a panic attack. You guys are such a support to me.

Jill,
I know you remember that laproscopic surgery leaves one gassy, maybe you can get through to him by explaining how you felt when you had your gastric bypass 4 years ago and explaining you know he is in pain, but that the pain will go away quicker if he moves around and allows it to pass out of his system, you probably explained all that to him already. . . Gee I really wish there was something I could say that would make you feel better, but being a Mom in cir****tances like this is not easy.
Hugs, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Breath, Jill, Breath. Slowly, and surely, just take a few breaths and breath.
I understand that angst of wanting to be with your child when he is sick and in need of Mom's TLC. It is when our faith is tested. Trust the Lord for your son, and remember that God has him in the palm of His hand and is working in his life.
Hugs,
Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.
