Tuesday Roll Call

Good Morning PA;

I'm tired today.  Monday nights are tough for someone like me who's bedtime is usually 8:30-9:00pm.  Presentation was Okay, I forgot some key points so that will reflect on my grade, however, overall it was one of my better presentations where I was able to use the PP for what it is intended.  A tool rather than reading everything from it.  So that part was an accomplishment for me.  There were a few slides that I did fall back into reading, but overall during the presentation I was much more at ease than normal.  I prefer to present without aids, I've very comfortable to present form memory when an aid is not involved.  As soon as I need to use a PP I always worry that I'm forgetting something important and then rely too much on the slides.

Part of what is affecting my school work is this darn construction.  This has been going on way to long.  The actual completion date we were given was May 31st which for me was doable with working and school.  It is now almost the end of July with no end in sight.  Gene had a talk with the GC yesterday,  but Gene tends to want to look at the big picture and is a therapist so wants to be supportive.  Me I'm at the point I want it done.  So Gene and I talked last night, there will be no more checks cut until work that has had checks cut is caught up and complete not half done as it currently is.  And he is telling the GC I'm in charge of the remaining checks and signing them.  I told Gene I have no problem taking on that role of the negotiator.  Like Gene told me he thinks I'm too hard with my negotiating skills, but when I work with providers and facilities at work, they send letters and emails to my senior managment telling them how much they enjoy working with me, so I'm not so sure I'm as tough a negotiator as Gene sees me

Today my boss and co-worker are out of the office.  I'm planning a mildly active day at work, catching up, however, the best laid plans never actually work out that way.  I'm working till 4, then home.  I still need to run over to My Ladies Corset Shop to pick up some bras, hopefully that will happen today.

I hear it is supposed to be in the 90's today, so still hot, but better than those 100's of last week.

Stay cool and hydrated and have a great day....

Good Morning Ida - I am sorry that construction is running so far behind. I too have been accoused of being too tough of a negotiatior, but you know what, I don't have 1 outstanding invoice at work, my customers love working with me and I almost always negotiate a better price with vendors (who also admittedly fight for our business).

First day back at work after vacation was actually better then expected, far less stress then I had prepped myself for. It was a longer day but tolerable. Here for another 10 hours today. After work I would like to stop at Borders, I heard that the one in Warrington is closing so I want to see if they have any good deals. After that to my parent's to get Mia and home to make dinner and hopefully bed early!

Good morning everyone!!

Ida--Sorry to hear that construction is dragging. I can understand your frustration in wanting it done! But glad to hear your presentation went well! :-)

As for me, yesterday went to my ob.gyn for a belly check. My belly is right on target for 32 weeks, baby had a good strong heartbeat, blood pressure is excellent, all went well. Go back in two weeks and will need to have PAP to monitor my high grade cervical dyslplasia...looks as if I will be having the procedure to shave off the affected portion of my cervix after the baby is born..but I will take it as it comes at this point.
Just want to keep the baby healthy!!

As for my plans today--teaching summer school till 12pm...running to Target to pick up some essential girly items :-) , picking up the hubby from work, and then heading home to work on finishing up the modules on my ACT 48 course.  Nothing too exciting..just a regular Tuesday!

Hope everyone has a terrific day!!

Much luv!

Hi everyone!

Well - as I posted yesterday, it was a great 2 year check in with Dr. Marymor yesterday. From there I drove in to the office for a couple of meetings, then home in the rain.

But after that? Mike was working late so I had sort of a "grazy" dinner of leftovers in the frig....ending with SFIC. Yes, it's my weakness. But WOW. I went into a (mild) dumping episode that laid me up for the rest of the night. Sweaty, abdominal pain, flushed, almost queasy....yeah. I swore off the evil sugar alcohols last night, believe me!

This was only my 2nd dumping experience, and was not as bad as the first (which laid me out on the bathroom floor). But it just goes to show ya, doesn't it? I don't "really" consider myself a dumper but it can happen for sure!

Today's lineup?

Gym
Work
Work on my writing
Find something to make for dinner
Quiet night - hopefully at least a short walk with Mike, then probably some TV time

Wishing all of you the energy and patience to get through the day (Ida, that patience piece is for YOU!)

Good Morning Ida and PA!

After four days I am finally home by myself! Dee is starting to feel a bit better. Hubby is at work. I didn't sleep well last night. Woke up @2:30am, was hungry, ate something then fell asleep on the sofa. Set my alarm for 6am, but didn't move until 6:30! I will be taking a nap sometime today!!

Doing some usual things in the house today. Cleaning, laundry, dishes, watching my soap, etc.

Not too exciting....

Have a great day!
Love to all, Beth

Ida, I hope the house gets done SOON!

 Morning all...

Ida, keep up the negotiating skills and don't give them another dime until the started work is completed.  That's just ridiculous that they are leaving things undone.  Great job on the presentation!!

Today has me working the full time job til 3:30 per usual.  At some point during the day, I need to get dinner together to take with me, pack an overnight/beach bag, jump in the shower and put on real clothes as I have to work at Dress Barn tonight.  I know there are more videos to watch and I may get some register training tonight, not sure.

After work, I will head home to grab my bag and food to take to NJ.  Neil and I are spending the day at the beach tomorrow and I am going to stay overnight tonight so I don't have to get up too early to drive in to NJ.  I am packing lots of water/crystal light and sandwiches and healthy snacks for us to take with us.   I am very much looking forward to having the day off and spending it on the sand.  I love going to the beach and don't get too many opportunities to get there.  I'll take one day if that's all I can get.

Hope everyone has a great day today!   Chances are that I won't get on here tomorrow unless I do it from my phone in the car.  So, hope everyone has a great day tomorrow, too.

Good morning all - Ida (and ladies) I am convinced that we need to clean house in Washington and load it up with WOMEN who apparently know how to get the job DONE. I'm with you and Liz - my husband talks a good game but when it comes time to get down and dirty he backs off - I don't get down and dirty, but I do get my point across and get things done! You go, Ida - get that contractor back on target to get it done. You start withholding money and you'll see just how fast they get moving. Granted there are some things they can't control, but to already be 2 full months behind with no end in sight would not be acceptable to me. You go, girl!!

As for me I'm at work - woo-hoo. However tonight my BFF is coming up from Fenwick and I'm taking a mental health day tomorrow and doing some retail therapy! I honestly don't know how much 'therapy' I'll be doing since I'm trying to get rid of a ton of stuff in my house, but it'll be fun to be out and about and just hanging out with her for the day. She's coming up tonight then heading back tomorrow night.

My younger sister is sending her signed contract and settlement check back to Florida today and then she and hubby will be homeowners! They're planning on moving down in December and there is a lot of work to be done on the house before they can move in, but they have a plan, and my older sister and brother are there to help her out.

My brother has begun his treatments and sadly, like Nan, his cancer is also inoperable, so they are being very agreesive with his chemo and radiation treatments. The radiologist did not sugarcoat it for him - he said he's going to start feeling really bad really fast, but there are meds that can help with it. He said the biggest issue for Barry is going to be the soreness in his throat due to where they have to target the radiation on his esophagus. Thank god he has quit smoking and my sister said his temperament has greatly improved now that he's through the worst of withdrawal.

And that's it for me this morning - not much else going on.

Take care all - Kathy

Good Morning Ida,
Hope you are able to see the end of construction soon.  Congrats on completing another tough evening at school.

I am four days sugar free, since attending my OA meeting on Saturday.

Today has me heading to my AA meeting and then taking a friend to my church to get some food out of the food pantry.  Then, we will hit Walmart for a few items and then I will drop her off.

After that, I have tidying to do around here, and then some writing to do.  Later on this afternoon, I head to my therapist's.  I have not been there in over a month.  My choice.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Hugs,
Trish

Good Morning Pa.,
Ida hope it all comes together and gets done soon.
Lisa have a great time at the beach, don't forget the sun screen.
Have some errands to run, getting things together to take two oldest grands to Tn. for two weeks, leaving on Sun.  Daughter wants to buy new shoes for work, have a 20% discount at Kohl's, so off to shop there this morning.  Then  to the library to do some more research into this bone loss issue.  Called the Dr's office yesterday for clarification on results, and my hips are one step away from osteoporosis (osteopenia to be exact).  Have contacted Vitalady for some advice, and we have emailed back and forth.  It promises to be another hot one, try to stay cool, and hydrated.
