Combatting regain. . . what's your plan for this day, week?

Happy Monday Everyone,

My weekend involved a lot of driving, sitting and socializing, but still while I ate some things I don't ordinarily, did not eat enough yesterday because I was on the go so much, I managed to get some walking in, as a result of walking trails with Roxie and then went to the gym where I did circuit training and 35 minutes on the elliptical, got all my vitamins in, forgot a dose of calcium and I just came back from getting bloodwork done.

My plans today include food prep, the gym, housework (it is an activity), drinking fluids, taking vitamins and some relaxation. The rest of this week will be somewhat of a challenge as will be out of town, but that is not an excuse not to plan or make good choices, however, I will not be rigid and just plan on making good choices most of the time and since the place that my daughter lives in has an exercise facility, her and I have planned to spend some time there.

So those are my plans and what are yours, what have you done right lately? what can you do better?

Have a great day and a good week!

Laureen

Good morning Laureen - I didn't have any 'formal' exercise this weekend but I got a lot done around the house and did a lot of walking in stores - grocery store, Christmas Tree Shoppe, and others. Did some cleaning, etc.

I did pick up some better food at the grocery store for my lunches this week - made chicken salad for myself and a huge bowl of fresh fruit salad that I brought into work with me. Going back to protein shakes for breakfast and trying to break the carb cycle I'm on lately.

Tonight I am going to get on my recumbant bike - my whole body is stiff and I know it's because I haven't been moving it enough. Sick of feeling this way - like a slug or something!

I made a separate post, but just for today at least I have a plan!  I decided to do my best to follow the Barix plan of post-surgical eating, using the 1000 calorie plan for now.  I'm going back to eating 6 times a day after having a hypoglycemic episode this past weekend.  I'm walking home from the train station after work today.  No grains after lunch -- this should be interesting.  I'll be reading recovery literature today.

I have been struggling and made no secret of it because I do not have magic mirrors and see what the results have been the last few months. New medicines seem to be working alright so with that on track. Now is the time to focus on what I can do to reverse things so I called my trainer and returning to the gym on Wednesday morning.

I will focus on making home made dinners since I am home all day now.

I have made refrence to this but I feel this time off is a blessing and happen for several reasons. Yet I let the clutter build up in my house again. During this time I will declutter the house so I can declutter my mind and find peace.
Plus work on my spirtiual well being.

One thing I have been telling myself is that I my worth is not defined but the number on the scale but I can make myself feel better over all.

Laureen,

Today is the first day of my exercise and food regimen. I have been eating every two hours, high protein meals, taking my meds and vitamins, and I did Zumba on the Wii today! I posted on roll call that I wanted to make the effort to do it and I DID!! YEAH ME! This summer is definitely the time for me to refocus on what my goals are and that I still have weight to lose. My journey is far from over, but it really never is?!?!

I am making a more concerted effort to exercise every day and to make good food choices...

That is it for me!

My plan is lots of protein, lots of fluids and lots of moving.  It works pretty well when I stick to it.
