Raw Veggies,

Afternoon everyone,

June 23 i will be 3 months out from surgery and was wondering if i was allwoed to eat raw veggies and if so which ones would be good to try,  My sons 3rd party is coming up and we are throwing him a party and i was going to make a veggie try but unsure if i was allwed to eat raw veggies,


Any insite will help

Your surgeon or bariatrician should have given you a diet progression.  Follow their recommendations to the letter if you wish to maximize your success.

I was careful beginning raw veggies but some are easier to tolerate than others. Avoid unpeeled veggies (like unpeeled cucumber slices or tomato peels). Chew very thoroughly.

I would begin with something like avocado, seeded and peeled cucumber slices, blanched green beans, and the tender (non stringy) part of a celery heart. Take tiny, tiny bites.

But overall - be careful and follow your doctor's recommendation.
