Brader Rally this Friday
Pretty cool that Dr B's patients are going to have a rally Friday. Thought it interesting that he finally had the forum to tell the truth. http://articles.lancasteronline.com/local/4/388037
Dr. Brader has alot of patients from Langhorne to Lancaster that support him and are forever grateful to him. He is your Doctor no matter what, I cannot tell you how many of my friends that he has been there for long after their surgeries to help them if they have questions. Consult with other surgeons due to complications post surgery such as hernia etc. He is dedicated to his patients that is for sure. It all comes down to money. I have learned the hard way that LGH was not interested in real patient care and follow up, but I never in a million years imagined that they would go this far?? Total disregard for him and what he has built there. Even more so total lack of empathy and understanding of the patients and what it takes to get this surgery. I cannot imagine how they feel. Imagine completing your 6 mos diet, jumping through hoops for your insurance company, finally getting time off work, getting support at home for afterwards with kids etc. and then to be told day of or before " nope we decided to fire your surgeon for no good reason other than $$$ so this surgery a major event in your life will be canceled. " How awful!!
I had an uneasy feeling back when I interviewed with Stacy Youkis at LGH. When I told her that I was a Brader Patient she became very sarcastic and negative. You Brader patients act like he is a God or something. I would not want anyone who was a patient of his working at this program. Well guess she told me.... but after that I felt bad because i realized that she was not a supporter or fan of his. I was surprised at how open she was in regards to her distaste. Again never imagined that it would get this far. This is definately about $ but I also believe that there was some personal motivations as well.
My grandfather always said " It is hard to be an eagle when you are surrounded by a bunch of turkeys" Guess LGH are the turkeys. He will be fine he is talented and has a good reputation. It is the patients that I am sad for mostly.

Thank You for sharing this.
I have been a Dr Brader patient since 2007. He changed my life and has been there every step of the way with me through the good times and bad. He remembers my name, my family and my story. I am not just another patient or a paycheck to him.
Some of the comments below this article absolutly enranged me! "this isn't the first time he's been fired from a hospital, just saying" - You are correct this isn't the first time he's been fired because he isn't afraid to say what he thinks and stand behind what he thinks is right! He was pushing for more support and options for his patients BOTH times when management decided to let him go. I for one will be calling today to get my records from LGH, they will no longer get my business. I hope that Dr Brader opens a new practice soon, I WILL follow him once again.
*down off soap box*
