Photos! Ever noticed???
I take photos ALL the time!! And of course, that means I'm in none! I've always hid behind the lens so people wouldn't catch me "on film"! And now I want to upload a current picture for my OH profile pic....and even though I have lost around 100 pounds and I feel great about the way I look....I got NOTHING! Shame on me! I need to pass the camera to someone else and jump in there! Where's the spot light?!!!!! I'm ready!! How about you?!
I was the same way - always taking the pictures, never being taken - my choice - hated seeing pictures of myself. Now while I'm still not thrilled about having my picture taken I do appreciate it much more! Just grab someone and ask them to take some shots of you - don't be shy - go for it! Photos are a fabulous way of keeping track of how great you're doing - they're marvelous motivation for when you're feeling down - and they're proof-positive that your tool is working!
It's funny, I didn't mind having my picture taken, just hated looking at them afterward! I always tried to stand sort of behind someone else when I was heavier. This year, you know what I noticed? When I look at a picture of someone I love, I just feel happy and warm and love looking at them. I don't pick them apart. When I see a picture of myself, I see my wrinkles, bags under my eyes, muffin top, etc. I need to love myself more and see myself through the eyes of others who love me.
