Kids say the darnest things...have your tissues ready!!
My kiddos had a snow day yesterday and I was on here looking at before and after pics to try and lifrt my mood and my 8 year old son was sitting beside me looking and this is the conversation that happened...
Me: Phillip look at these pics aren't they awesome....these people had the surgery that mommy is gonna have soon.
PhillIp: Mommy, they look totally different.
Me: I know isnt it incredible...when mommy losses alot of weight you will be able to give me a hug and hopefully get your arms the whole way around me!!
He sat thinking for a while and looked up at me with the biggest sweetest blue eyes and said:
Mommy I don't want you to have the surgery I love you just the way you are!!
I cried...I think that he is just afraid of me changing...lol He is gonna make some gal very happy some day!! :)

Be prepared for the kids to go through some emotional changes also. We often forget them.
My son, who is now 11, broke down one day about 6 months post op, and just cried.
I asked him why, he said, "I miss my BIG mommy"
He only knew me the way I had always been and the changes in my size were hard for him. Now, that was 6 years ago, and he barely remembers me being heavy. But at the time, it was a big adjustment for him.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
