Morning Ya'll ~
I'm scheduled to have my consult with Dr. Castellanos at Hahnemann on Feb 4th, and I'm just looking to see who else has worked with this Doctor and/or facility. What did you think? Were you happy with them?

Also, what about their support groups... does anyone have a support group near Levittown, PA I could participate in?

Nothing negative to say about Dr. Castellanos, however, he is a trauma surgeon. Meaning that he does not focus on Bariatrics as a whole. You will not have the same advantage as someone who goes to a bariatric surgeon whose main focus is bariatrics.

The support meeting closest to you would be at Barix in Langhorne. The group meets the first Saturday of each month, the second Tuesday of each month and the Third Wednesday of each month. Follow the boards for times and announcements and possible cancellations.

Some days your the dog and some days your the hydrant.

Thank you for your reply. I have been to a couple of the support group meetings at Barix and was originally going to have surgery with Dr. Pupkova however at the same time she left my husbands company changed their insurance plan. They will now only pay 40% if I go with Barix and I just can't afford that with all the other debts we have right now. Hahnemann is the only place I can have it paid for 100% (aside from my co-pay) so I'm just trying to gather as much info on Dr. Castellanos as I can. I've heard nice things about him and he seems like a genuine person from what I could tell at his seminar. They require you attend so many support group meetings before they will even schedule your surgery which is fine, but I just HATE driving to Philly... it looks like I'll be heading back to Barix for meetings :)
