Are you more youthful now?

Yes, Kathy - i DO feel more youthful... more importantly, I don't feel like I need to buy clothes that are HIDING FROM THE WORLD anymore.  I think that's allowed me (by shopping in "normal" stores) to be more adventurous in choosing styles and experimenting to find styles that I'm comfortable in, rather than the style that Lane Bryant dictated I should wear.

But a large part of feeling more youthful is my energy level, which has never been higher.  The combination of carrying around less weight and being in much better shape exercise-wise has given me a completely different outlook on life's little activities.  I no longer avoid certain things because I don't have someone with me who can help carry the heavy load, or spend a ridiculous time driving through parking lots to find something closer to the entrance, or send my kids or hubby on errands to grab something I need from a different floor of the house... because now I have the energy to do it AND the outlook that that extra bit of movement is an additional bit of exercise for my day.

I feel younger than my chronological age, but you know, that's ok.  I'll dress however I damned well please and if it's a style that I've "borrowed" from my daughter's closet, that's ok if I FEEL good in it.  (and both of my daughters have started borrowing from MY closet, too!)  I refuse to be limited any more by a number (on a scale or on a calendar)!

Yes Kathy I feel much more youthful again.  I have gone back to my normal classic style.  In my youth when I designed and sewed all my own clothing I had a very stylish/classic style.  I love clothing by Anne Taylor, Anne Kline, Michael Kors, Betsy Johnson, Vera Wang to name a few,  a lot of suits both skirt & pants.  I'm experimenting with sweaters again, turtle necks, skirts.  With jeans I enjoy my Harley shirts, I'm tucking things in again.  I have gone back to buying Nine West shoes I love Nine West.  Gene and I were talking last night, he said he's enjoying that I love fashion again.  I love accessorizing with my fashions.  I enjoy dressing in my biker clothing as much as I love my classic style.  A year ago, I didn't want to dress for riding I was embarassed to wear such big clothing looking so out of place on the back of the Harley.  Now I love putting on my jeans, chaps, leather vest & jacket.  I look good in my clothing again and I'm loving it and feeling YOUNG again :-)

I do feel younger in as much as I can sit on the floor, cross legged and not fall over backwards.  It's also a lot easier to keep up with the grandkids.  However all I have to do is look in  a mirror and I see an old woman, sometimes it is the face of my mother, other times it is my father or my brother.  I could just cry sometimes, as this is only one of two things that I regret about this surgery.

Absolutely.

I can clearly remember being a freshman in HS and being mistaken for my younger brother's MOTHER.  And that type of stuff happened frequently.

Ironically - the hair issue - I have since chopped it off for a more youthful look...I always had longer hair and I absolutely LOVE it short and colored.

Definately wear things I wouldn't have worn and do things I wouldn't have done.  I like going out...I like dancing at weddings and clubs and what not....

The makeup...that has stayed the same.  I've never been all that great with make up, so you're lucky I do what I do with it lol

It's awesome!

I have always been a casual but nice dresser and since I lost the weight my butt goes into stores like Forever 21 I love that store and alot of people tell me I "dress young" but not the negative type like mini skirts and halter tops with my boobs hanging out.  I love my dungarees and nice tops and UGGS and Brighton items and to me its a treat to myself for all the hard work it takes.  * I said takes because its always going to be a work in process.  I have always worn my hair medium length because I hate it. Frizz city nothing works!  I do feel alot better about myself so instead of food I do reward myself with clothes.

That's right - you are the other Brighton lover on here - I am hooked on them! I love their handbags and accessories - my husband gave me a very nice gift cert for this little store by me for Xmas last year and I got a pocketbook - I think I got hooked on purses when clothing was hard to buy and shoes even harder - but pocketbooks fit any size!

what store is near you that you buy your Brighton from?  I have three I go to.  One is called Deerskin at KitchenKettleKorner one is Artware in Jenkintown and one called Easy Pieces in Newtown I think if you want I can PM you phone numbers to all of them.  I do like alot of their pieces and thought I could order them online but not so you have to go to the stores or places like ebay.  Someone told me they have a ballet shoe which is supposed to be pretty I will have to look that one up online to see what it looks like.

The place I go is called Mykonos - its in the Glen Eagle Shopping Center in Chadds Ford - not a big store but they will order stuff for you if they don't have it. Is the KitchenKettleKorner store in the Lancaster area? I think we tried to find that once but didn't have any luck. There used to be an actual Brighton store out here in King of Prussia at the mall but it was soooo expensive! Well they're not cheap anywhere, are they - LOL.

I think when we were in the Lancaster area looking we weren't looking for the right store - if its called Deerskin I'd probably be able to find it - going out there Saturday with a friend do to some shopping - Coach is also a bad place for me - love their stuff, too.
