Did you hear about this one?
I read about this on Yahoo news and it infuriated me - then she came back with an apology of sorts and that's supposed to make it all better? The prejudice against 'fat' people still amazes me and how the ones doing it think it's okay? They're justified and can say what they want? I wonder how that chick would have felt if I had said 'Every time I see a skinny chick walk into a room it grosses me out because they look skeletal'?
Personally I think she should be fired. I have 3 young, very impressionable teen-age granddaughters *****ad that magazine religiously and who are totally into their bodies, their looks, their hair, etc. All three are beautiful but will always point out their 'flaws' to you if you tell them they're beautiful instead of just accepting the compliment. Drives me nuts.

Dennis,
I read the article and it really made me mad! Is it wrong for overweight people to find love? NO! Some small minded people may think so, but I believe that ALL people have a right to find happiness no matter their size, shape, race, religion or sexual orientation!! I am personally a big fan of "Mike and Molly". I think they are adorable together and it shows the true growing pains of a starting relationship....
Growing up an "overweight" person, I always felt I would NEVER find happiness or a guy that would love me for me. Before I met Steven, I dated guys who I thought at the time were good enough, but they were either not going anywhere in their lives or careers or didn't treat me with the love and respect I deserved. I realize now that I had to go through all that "CRAP" to really appreciate what I have now.
I think it is about time that there is a sitcom on tv that shows two "real" characters in a love story. Are we still living in the age of the Handsome Prince and the Fairy Princess? So FAKE!!! I cannot stand it!!! Just sayin....
Ok, I am now getting off my soapbox!

I read it and I of course got very angry. I would have been angry, if I had never been obese, but as a woman who was super obese of course it upsets me. It never feels good to know that you are so disgusting to people that the thought of you sharing a kiss with someone who does love you and accept you makes them sick. I of course, would say that the gay community also has to deal with this disdain and disgust as well.
What upset me is that she apologized for her words, but there is no way for her to take back the intent or the ripple effect, She cannot apologize for her feelings, they are hers. What I know is that people often hate what they fear so this has more to do with her then the " fat couple" Why the article was run in the first place i will never know.
I guess we get forget how awful people can be, and how being fat really is one the BIG LAST ACCEPTED Prejudices.
