Good Morning Pam.
I am snug in bed, reluctant to get up.  bUMMED about my Phillies, and still weak from the little flu I have been fighting.  I have nothing planned today, except to go to the Management Team meeting for Bucks County Special Olympics.  Then, tonight, hopefully, the Phillies will redeem themselcves.

Hugs,
Trish

Good morning all - its Thursday. Yesterday was a bit up and down. My daughter called early in the day and you can just tell when something is wrong - seems she has/had this spot on the inside of her mouth on her upper lip - nasty looking growth of some type - been there for about 6 months but of course she let it go - and she is a smoker so the doctor was sending her to a dermatologist yesterday to get it checked out - THANKFULLY it was only a 'venus lake' - the dr numbed her good and scraped it off, but because she is a smoker she sent it out to be biopsied, so hopefully everything is good, and I think this scared her enough to finally quit smoking.

Later in the morning I get a Fed Ex from one of my oldest, closest friends (30+ years!) who works at US Air - this friend is raising 2 nephews and always struggling, so we usually treat her when we go out and have her to our place a lot - cover her part on gifts to friends, etc., so I couldn't imagine what was in a Fed Ex from her - turns out she had gotten 2 round trip plane tickets to anywhere in the continental US good til next November, so she gave them to us so we can fly out to Seattle in May to see my oldest granddaughter graduate. Yes, I cried - I'm a big sap and couldn't believe someone would give me a gift like that.

Have also been working with one of my husband's granddaughters who called and asked if we could help her out financially (short term) and we said we would - there aren't many of the kids that I would agree to do this for, but this girls works her butt off at 2 jobs, raising 4 kids on her own, and was finally able to buy a little house for herself last year, and now she's trying to get a better job but 2 old bills are cropping up because they're in collection, so if she gets them taken care of her chances of getting this other job increase greatly. So we're taking out a small personal loan to help her get thru.

And last night I got a card in the mail from my niece, Leah - don't know if you all remember but she's the drug addict who we thought had things under control but lost it at Christmas last year and took off - broke my mother's heart and I haven't seen or heard from her since my mom's service. But she sent me a school picture of her oldest son and a short note. I do miss her and the boys, so I will write to her today and maybe invite them out for dinner. I'm praying she has it together this time but I don't know if she's going to meetings or not.

And those are my very loooooooooooong ramblings this morning - sorry about that, folks...

Have a great day!

What a great story about the plane tickets! Sounds like your life is very connected to those you care about these days!

It's been a nutty week - worked about 3/4 of the day at home on Monday, then drove to Pittsburgh Mon. afternoon/evening. Had a work appointment on Tuesday, a business lunch, then an ENDLESS drive home on Tuesday. Wed. was in Philly to give a presentation, which went fine....but honestly I should have stayed at the office till about midnight to catch up. Didn't though - the trains don't run that late to Lancaster!

So today and tomorrow I am at home on megadrive for work, where I will stay for the next couple of weeks. We have major meetings coming up and the prep work is intense. And after that's done, the "next wave" begins, so to speak.

But I'm going to hit the gym today for jazzercise, which is suiting me fine - doesn't bother my knee and I can modify the impact but still get a solid workout. And swinging by Postal Connections to mail a package to my daughter with some sweaters I picked up for her. She needs clothes and can't spend money right now so I used my Kohl's cash and a gift card to get her some things. Tucking in a few Halloween treats for the kids too!

SO much to do! Everyone take care!

I got nuthin'.

Same ol - same ol.

Sold lots of stuff on ebay so that got me a bit of spending money for the weekend. Happy about that.

Today I have to get packed up for that. Scrapbook stuff ready. Pack some comfy clothes and slippers to schlep around the B&B all weekend. Love my life today...2 days ago...not so much.

Might break out the crock pot for a pork tenderloin calling my name.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Where are you scrapping this weekend.  I need a weekend to get to it - I did have one day earlier this month - But unless I schedule time OUT of the house -  I don't get to it and I LOVE LOVE LOVE to scrap.  We should plan a scrapping weekend for us WLSer's.  I know Sandra tried to do a support day a few months ago but it was a bad time - I think a weekend away would be soooo fun!  Have a great time and get lots of pages done! :)

It's a great Bed & Breakfast in Edinboro, PA. (Season's Inn at Nick's Place)

They're online, you should check it out. It's a long drive, but, if you're desperate to get away, you won't be disappointed! One other woman in the group had WLS about the same time I did so, I'm anxious to see how she's doing.

We go tomorrow at 4 and leave Sunday by 2...or 4...can't remember. Come and go as you please. It's a college town, so there's lots to do. But, I don't want to DO anyting. This is the only way I get scrapping done too. I'm going to scrapbook our summer memories. I shoot to get one small'ish book done before we leave on Sunday.

The place has an indoor pool and hot tub. They provide food around the clock It's as close to spa living as I've ever come. I CANNOT wait!

Good Morning Pam and PA!

Well, my efforts to get to support last night failed miserably!! I got to leave a little early from work yesterday, came home, watch my soap, then fell asleep on the recliner until I heard knocking at my door. It was Deanna coming home from school. My next door neighbor and I have a schedule of picking up the girls so we are not stuck with it everyday. I was awake but still feeling exhausted. I also got a flu shot yesterday which probably contributed to my tiredness....

I did want to share some WOW moments with you from yesterday. Well, it was a professional development day and health fair at our school. The whole district was invited to come to the health fair, so I got to see many people that I haven't seen in YEARS!! One woman that I used to work with didn't even know who I was at first!! After speaking with me for awhile, she realized who I was. She said, "Beth, you have lost ALOT of weight!" Such a good feeling!! Saw other former coworkers who were so thrilled for me and said that I looked GREAT!! They actually called me SKINNY! Never in my life did I ever think that would be a description of me!!!!

Today is work, staff meeting, store to pick up much needed COFFEE and some other things. Then home to do homework with Dee and make dinner( I think it might be leftover cheeseburger pie) , bath for Dee then relax and try to watch the Phillies.

It was very strange, I turned on the game last night and they were losing 2-1. While I watched they went ahead 4-2. Then I went to sleep and wake up this morning to hear they LOST! I guess I should have stayed up....

Anyway, Have a great day everyone!!

Good Morning Pa and Pam,
Pam I can relate to all you are saying, my daughter is a nurse at a small hospital, and we know all about the knuckle heads that come in to ED.  The kids in Kutztown are no exception, as we have family that lives there and know what they are like. (no different I guess than any other college students)  Your day sounds so busy for just coming off work and having a day off.  Get some rest and take care of yourself after having been so sick.
Not much going on here.  Trying to get back to basics in regards to eating, I have gained back 2 lbs, although that may be my bounce  back, who knows.  A trip to the bank, then to the library to return overdue books which my daughter forgot to return for me.  Getting ready for my granddaughters birthday party (#8), a sleep over with 5 girls.  (glad that I am going home before they show up)  Need to get out and get a walk in, and try and figure out how I am going to get some better exercise in.  It is hard with running back to Pa. then to Md. to watch the grandkids.  Lisa is starting a new job, at a hospital closer to home in Salisbury, which means a change of babysitting duties while she does a week or two of training there in Cardio unit.  Seems like my responsibilities are constantly changing with the kids, I had asked to her to change her days so I could do something I haven't done for a year that I wanted to get back to, now it looks that it is going to go back to the way it was.  I keep reminding myself that this is only till July of next year, then my obligation is done. (I have heard that before)  Sorry for the long vent.  Hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Ena

Good Morning all - better late then never right?!

I went to KU for 2 years and remember thirsty thursday's all too well, even though I wasn't a partier.

I am at work flying solo today, everyone else is out on installs and sales meetings so I am holding down the fort. I am hoping to get out of here right at 4 today.
