Silly question.

This is the weirdest thing that I am obsessing about lately.

When you tell someone how much weight you’ve lost, do you use your highest weight, or your weight on your surgery day?

Example 1. Since January (when I started the process) I’ve lost 85 pounds

Example 2. Since surgery day in May I’ve lost 77 pounds.

This is assuming you share like I do. I tell everybody! Often whether they ask or not. I just like the way the higher amount of weight sounds. And this is a ridiculous question/thing to think about, but…. I can’t help it.

Thoughts?

Well, I have only told a handful of people about my surgery. Which is probably why all of you here are so important!

And I HATE the question "How much have you lost?" Kind of nosey, if you know what I mean!

But...I count my weight loss from my highest weight pre op.

Hey Cherish!!

This is not a silly question! I always go by my highest weight. There was only a 10lb difference between my highest weight and my surgery weight, so it really wasn't that big of a deal.

AWESOME WEIGHT LOSS!!! Good for you!!!

R u coming to the picnic at Liz's? Hope so, I will be there with my family!!

I tell everybody! And I use my loss(es) from my highest weight, when I initially weighed in at Barix, because that's really when my journey began - and for me it is a big difference because I lost 50 lbs between that initial visit and the day of surgery, so yeah baby, I COUNT IT!

I use my highest weight.  I lost 90 on my own and the rest since surgery.

I agree with Liz...I lost them and I am counting them.  However the highest "known" weight is the one at my first appointment.  I know I weighed more but didn't dare step on a scale back then.  Now I step on the scale every morning.
