mini shilpa update

Ok, Shauna knows about the labs and other techy stuff... but this is what I know after talking to her tonight after work.

They "think" she had a UTI that turned into a Kindey infection that has turned into a blood infection (how she told me).

Her fever won't go past 99 degrees... so she can't go home yet... needs to hit normal she said, and because of this the doctor has asked for her really not to have visitors.  I told her I would pass this on... so if you were planning on visiting please don't for know. 

She was really hoping to go home tomorrow- but still has the fever and the doc is wanting to do iron things like Liz... 3 times this week... the last day being Friday... Shilpa asked- I will still be here Friday? and the doc just said "maybe"...

She was feeling a little down but between Jeremy and my comments we got her laughing... in which she told us that it hurt but it was good... see we told her that bacon fixes everything (she thinks pigs are nasty and gross and dirty- so this has become an on going joke with us)... so Jeremy told her she needed to rub herself down with bacon... then cook it up and eat it... she started to laugh and a CNA brought in dinner and asked what was so funny... and the CNA agreed with us... bacon fixes everything hehehe... so we hung up so she could eat...

She hasn't seen her kids since she went into the hospital and I think that is starting to get to her... but I told her that kids are nasty and dirty (hehehe) and she really needs to heal up before seeing them... she agreed but I think at this point she might be going stir crazy...

So send up lots of prayers for her... I have a feeling right now the docs are just frustrated because they really don't know what is happening... they have an idea but not real sure (again how she put it)... so send out lots of love and prayers for our girl... I'm off to see if I can find a place cheap to send some flowers to her... that or a side of bacon lol...

Thanks for the update, Shannon. Doesn't sound like Shilpa is having a whole lot of fun right now. I'll keep her in my prayers.

Thank you for the info Shannon - Since I was away this week, I didn't know anything was going on.  Am hoping for a quick recovery

WOW.. she is really going through it with this.   I'm glad you have been keeping her laughing.  She definitely needs that.

I am going to call her again today.  Must be tough when they are not sure what is going on.  Plus to not see her babies?!?! OMG, I know how hard that has to be on her.

Thanks so much Shannon - I've been wondering about her - I'll text her again, too. Poor thing, she is really going through it, isn't she. Glad you could make her laugh, tho - I'm sure it made her feel better, even if only for a little while! If you talk to her again please pass along my prayers and well wishes...Kathy
