Just wondering if ppl kept or gave away clothes that didn't fit anymore.  I'm going to be switching my wardrobe from spring/summer to fall/winter and I'm on the fence!

Thanks

I have gave away some of my clothes... so I still have because I can't find anyone that can use some of them... but I know I have gotten hand me downs from other OH members...

I also know some have taken things to consignment shops, ebay, and craig listed stuff...

I got rid of them as soon as they got too big.  I gave some to friends that could use them and all the rest to the GoodWill.  I will be taking another bag to the GoodWill later this week.

I gave mine away... to my sister-in-law who works at an adult day care center.  They always need clothes.  If you are willing to donate them, why not call a local shelter or center?  You won't need them and someone in need surely can use them.

Because I was so much bigger than everyone I know I packed all mine up for Goodwill - I didn't want them hanging around the house 'tempting' me with thoughts of 'oh well, if I put on a few lbs I can pull something out of that bag' - NOPE - everything went out the door!

I could not get anyone to take my starting clothing it was much too big for anyone.  But as I started to get into normal plus sizes I brought them to meetings and gave to friends.  All my old shoes went to a thrift shop.

As Kathy said, getting rid of them became an active affirmation that I will NOT go back.  I donated many to a local thrift store that supports a battered women's shelter, others I took to support group meetings for others on the WLS journey.  Consignment shops and yard sales can also be great ways to raise money for yourself, but they do require patience and some hand-holding (going back to pick things up that haven't sold, etc.) that I wasn't really willing to do.

I have friends of all sizes...all with kids of varying ages. (ie...with "post baby belly" sizes sitting in their closets.) I have a friend that gave me her smaller clothes she just stopped being able to wear and I gave her mine that I no longer needed...then, as friends learned how fast I was shrinking, they were practically THROWING their clothes at me that were too big for them (so THEY could remove their temptation) and they'd fit me for a while. Then as I ungrew them, I sent them to goodwill. I should have kept better records, but, would probably prompt an audit. I've donated tons of clothes this year and have been inspired to thin out the girls clothes at the same time. I've also found excellent deals at goodwill and 2nd hand stores so I didn't have to spend a fortune on items that I didn't receive.

Last Christmas as a slightly funny gift, I received underwear in every size from where I was to a size I swore looked like my 7 year old could wear them. That was a great gift and now those tiny panties get worn regularly...by me, not Kelsey.

I cleared mine out - goodwill got most, and I have also latched on to a good consignment store that has taken a lot of my "good" work clothes.

I did keep one pair of "before" pants and one pair of "before" jeans. They are simply unbelievable today!

Besides, why would you want those huge sizes? I found that I had very little sadness as I saw those clothes go out the door!
