SF Pillsbury cake and icing-CAUTION

Hi PA,

I tried the new cake mix and icing this weekend and got pretty sick so I wanted to issue you all a warning. When I looked at the nutritional info I was shocked at the sugar alcohol content. 1 cup cake w icing equaled 25 grams of sugar alcohols. If you dump like I do becareful if you try this product, I'd hate for you to get sick.

Best,
Teresa

Teresa,
I tried the SF cake mix with pumpkin and I was fine BUT I did not use the icing. Also made them into cupcakes and only had a half. Maybe that is the reason I was okay. Thanks for the warning.

People comment on my over 100 pound weight loss and attribute it to my WILLpower, but it is my WANTpower: I WANT to be thin and healthy more than anything else!

I made a pan of the Pillsbury SF brownies and they were pretty good. I have not made the cake or used the icing yet but they are in my pantry. I will be careful with it because the SA also make me feel yuck

And even if you don't dump on sugar alcohols.....they can have a significant laxative effect!

I'm pretty sure that it isn't sugar free but reduced sugar... at least the ones I have seen... it still has sugar in it along with other sugar free stuff to help it be reduced sugar...

Teresa,

I made the SF cake mix with icing for my birthday and hubby's birthday. I did have some laxative effect from it. Didn't seem to affect anyone else in the family, thank goodness.

Oh well, no more of that for me :( I do have the SF brownies, maybe I will try those...

Thanks,

Beth

try making the mini cupcakes. No added Sugar and SF are not calorie free they still have a lot of calories, so when I make the cake I use mini cupcake pans and when I make the brownies I have th brownie pan from CVS, I cut them in 3's so if u eat 3 pieces it is = to 1 brownie
