Looking for a getaway destination...can you help?

My son has no school Nov. 3,4,5,6,7, Wed-Sun.  We would like to do something, but we aren't sure what.  He turns 12 on Nov 5th, so since I am past my goal and only 7 pound away from my ultimate goal, and happy to have survived a motorcycle accident....we need to get away and celebrate.  Due to budget restraints it can't be too elaborate like Disney (Caleb's suggestion)...but do you know of somewhere cheap to fly to, or somewhere driveable from central PA that would be a good trip.  Any and all help is appreciated.  We have never done anything like this...just a trip for celebration & rejuvination...I thought it would do my family good.
Thanks,
Sara

PS:  We went to Pittsburgh for Spring Break this year...so that is out.

This place is not central PA but it is a reasonable drive. Williamsburg VA has always been a nice place to go and the hotels are not too bad and the food etc is affordable,

Just a thought.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Washington DC and Inner Harbor. Do them both.

I would second the Washington DC area suggestion and Baltimore.  There are tons of free things (all Smithsonians) to do thrown in with some fee things (Aquarium in Balt) makes for a very reasonable trip.  Stay outside of DC and use the metro to get around.  It's very safe and very efficient.  Might be too late to get the White House tour (have to contact your congressman or senator ahead of time)  Some of the attractions are timed tickets but free (Washington Monument) so make sure you go early and get a timed ticket.

As an added benefit to your weight loss celebration, Washington is a LOT of walking no matter how you do it which will be your exercise those days.
