Thanks Beth,
I can't wait until I hardly take up any room on the losers bench, but I will get there in the not so distant future! The old me would have said something like "hopefully i'll get there", but not now. I KNOW that I'm going to do it!
Hope you're enjoying your weekend,
David

Oops, I realized that I never thanked you! I always like to make sure to reply to everyone that replys to one of my posts.. I figure if they took the time to reply back, then I should do the same to them.. So thanks!
Your progress is fantastic and go right on patting yourself on the back - the band alone isn't making you lose weight - your attitude, attention to food and to exercise are all whats making it work. I hope you don't mind but I like to share your posts with my sister who is in the progress of getting approved for lapband surgery.
Congratulations on your accomplishments so far - much continued success!!

Kathy, I have absolutely no problem with you doing that. That's the point of these boards isn't it, to be able to find help and support for myself and hopefully be able to support some other people if at all possible.
And congratulations to your sister in making the choice to try to get surgery. I first looked into surgery 3 years ago, but at the time I decided it wasn't for me. What a HUGE mistake, as all that did was just add more weight onto what I need to lose in order to reach my goals..
I've been lucky so far, I didn't have any complications after surgery, hardly any pain at all.. Now that I've progressed to soft foods, I just make sure to cut them in really small pieces and chew, chew, chew.. I know it's probably dumb, but I actually count in my head to make sure that I chew at least 30 times.. Right now there is no saline in my band, and there really is no restriction either (there was a little restriction the first week or so after surgery, due to normal swelling). So I've been surprised at how little I've been hungry.
Anyways, best of luck to your sister in getting approval for her surgery. The Lap Band forum on here seems to be pretty active, and there seems to be alot of useful info on there.
Wow, I didn't realize that I ended up writing a book here. Sorry. LOL
Have a nice one,
David
