Well I stopped by my surgeons office today to get weighed, and it turns out that I've lost 6 lbs in the past week!  That's a total of 21 pounds down in the 3 1/2 weeks since I've had my surgery, so I'm extremely pleased with that!

I've been trying to work really hard, and I've now increased my distance that I walk each night to 2 1/4 miles..  It takes me 40 minutes to do it, so I'm not going to break any land speed records or anything like that.   But I'm just amazed how a month ago I wasn't walking at all, and now I'm doing more then 2 miles each night.

I've progressed to eating soft foods about a week ago.  So I've just been eating chicken, chicken salad, tuna fish, etc..  I've just made sure to chew, chew, chew!  Luckily I haven't really felt all that hungry at all, so hopefully it stays that way.  I'm going back to see my surgeon in a little less then 2 weeks for my first fill.

Sorry, this post really isn't anything but me patting myself on the back..  Anyways, I hope that everyone has a great weekend!

One of the things that is a common theme across many of us on here is that our lives and focus has always been on everyone and everything else, without any focus on ourselves.  You took the first step to change that.  It is ok, and even encouraged to come on here and pat yourself on the back.  21 lbs in 3 1/2 weeks is amazingly wonderful.

Congratulations - keep on walkin'

Fantastic!!  That's great on the walking!!  Soon you'll be doing soooo much more!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

The first few times that I did the 2 1/4 miles, it nearly killed me!  LOL.  But it's definitely getting easier.   I know that if I want to keep on losing I gotta keep on doing more and more.  Some people that I work with go to the gym after work in the morning, so I'm thinking about joining after I go back to work.  I just have to see what my surgeon says is okay to do exercise wise after I see him next week.

David,

CONGRATS!! You can pat yourself on the back as much as you want! You have every right to! Keep up the good work. Your spot on the loser's bench is getting less and less by the minute!
