Things that Swede is thinking about.
First – Congrats on the movement J Doctor P recommended that I take a probiotic (I take the vegetarian ones that don’t require refrigeration – Acidophilus and I get them at Wegmans) - I take 1 every day before bed time and I am fairly regular since I started taking them at 6 months out – yeah for me!
I think you got the deal on bananas from the advise above – You can get potassium from Fish as well.. as an alternate to the cork effect of a banana.
I have to say that for the first 3 to 4 months, I felt that my personality had changed – I didn’t feel like I was as much fun, but I feel the fun side has come back now… and oh isn’t my husband so happy to have his smart ass wife back.
Keep coping,
Maura

Hi Swede,
As usual I'm late to the posts, but then again I do have an excuse this week, I was in the hospital and still recovering from my stay.
The one musing you mentioned that stuck out to me was your wifes observation you are "not the same" When Gene has his surgery in 2006, like you he had complications. He was in and out of the hospital for 3 months. His surgery was Jan 5, 2006, he didn't go back to wor****il March 26, 2006. He was in and out of the hospital 3-4 times during all those months. We spent our 2nd wedding anniversary with Gene in the hospital, me sitting by his bedside. During that time he was not himself either. He is an upbeat, joking, wonderful person to be around. I love him dearly but during that time, he was "not the same" This surgery took a lot out of him. His recovery was rocky and difficult. This all takes a toll on you and your body. It probably took him a good 4-6 months after March to start being his normal funny, silly, self.
Hope this long winded response helps you a bit.
Hang in there......
As far as the poop thing goes, the internest at the hospital put me on Miralax once a day. He told me to take one capful with 6 oz of water. If I have more that two bowel movements in a day then I'm to skip a does of the Miralax. So far since I've been out of the hospital I can say I am cleaned out finally!!!!!
