1 Year Surgiversary
Good morning everyone,
Wow, it is so hard to believe that today is 1 year since I had my RNY surgery. I am down a whopping 149 pounds!!!! It's amazing how much my life has changed in this short period of time and how fast the year went by.
A year ago I was bombarded with issues such as horrible acid reflux, walking with a cane, depression and so many other issues. I am truly a new man.
The challenge now is to continue to maintain my weight loss.
What a terrific feeling.
I hope everyone has a great day.

Geoff,
My gosh, time flies! Can't believe it's been a year since your surgery! In that time you've faced a lot of challenges and setbacks, but you've kept your focus, stuck to your guns, and now you're reaping the rewards of your new life. Truly inspirational!
As you face the next year, just keep focusing on your goals and why you made this radical change. Don't let yourself get "comfy" in it - don't lose the fear - and don't let yourself feel like "it's DONE"... in reality, it's never "done" because the continued journey is what keeps us healthy in the long run.
Happy re-birthday!

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Thanks everyone for the kind words, they are truly appreciated. I must say that I could not have succeeded in my journey without you guys. You all have been so inspirational to me. Liz I don't know what I would have done had you not been in there in the very beginning when I was facing so many issues and so scared out of my mind. I will always be indebted to you!!
I am slowly recovering from the car accident, happy to be back at work. Going to a lot of physical therapy. They are talking about giving me an epidoral in my neck, but just trying to roll with the punches. I just want to get out of pain and back to the gym.
Time has surely flown by and I am grateful for everyday of the experience and just plan to stay focused, and hopefully this will be the very last time that I say "This is the last time I will ever have to lose weight". I hope I have learned my lesson well the hard way.
Thank you to you all.
Lots of Love,
Geoff
