1 Week Post-Op Visit

I went and saw one of my surgeons assistants today for my 1 week post-op followup appointment.  All 5 of the incisions are healing nicely, and I was able to get rid of the last few straggling steristrips that were still holding on for dear life..  And they're happy with how I am progressing so far..

But the best part of all is that I weighed myself today.  I had weighed myself the day before surgery (last Monday), so between then and now I've lost 12 lbs!  Combined that with my presurgery weight loss, and I've lost 26 lbs all together!  YAY!  Obviously the liquid diet gets all the credit for the weight loss, but I'm just glad to be off to a good start.

I go back in 5 weeks for my first fill with the surgeon, and they tell me that they normally start off with 3 cc's and work up from there.

Thanks ladies..  I'm glad to be off to a good start, but I know that my weight loss will slow down considerably.  I'm told to only expect to lose about 1-2 lbs per week with the band, which is fine by me.  I didn't gain the weight all at once, and I don't expect to lose it all at once either.

Congratulations. you're off to a fantastic start and only more success to follow. 1-2 lbs. is nothing to sneeze at and you may not have some of the skin issues some of us have had to deal with by losing a little slower.

Glad to hear you're feeling so well - much continued success!!

Thank you.  I certainly hope that I don't have too many skin issues.  My surgeon did explain to me that because of my age (I'm 30) my skin should still be fairly elastic, and then losing weight slower should help keep it from happening.  But in the end if I do end up having skin issues, I'll deal with it when that time gets here.  Que sera, sera.
