Thanks...  I actually have one of those recumbent stationary bikes that I had bought a few years ago (but it has just been collecting dust), and I was thinking about using that.  That seems like it probably is a bit more strenuous then just walking, so I'm afraid of trying it out..  I guess I'll just wait until after I see the surgeon on Wednesday for my follow-up appointment before I go and try that.

Dust that sucker off and get it ready - charge up your iPod or MP3 and hop on (after you see your surgeon for the okay, of course) - start slow - work your way up to more tension, speed and time. It won't take long. You'll probably reach a point quickly where you'll want to trade that in for a treadmill or something - I keep mine and use it because I have bi-lateral knee replacements and its much kinder to my knees than an eliptical or other form of exercise. But it would be a good starting point for you and like walking you can take it easy and build yourself up.

David,

Great job so far and good for you to be out there and moving.  It's amazing how good things can feel in a relatively short time after surgery.   Don't push too fast, but DO let yourself push a bit... learn to listen closely to what your body is telling you and work with it.

Congrats!

Wow, I feel like the odd man out.  I just realized that everyone that has replied to my posting has had the RNY procedure...  Hopefully I made the right choice by going with the band..  Only time will tell.

You'll be going round and round that loop in no time!  And yes...you have realized that your band is a TOOL and that is the motivation to keep it up!!!  FANTASTIC work thus far....remember this "high" when the road may get a bit tougher and hooooow worth it it is!
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
