Feeling a little frustrated
Oooh, what did you order? I'm always looking for new stuff and ideas! I've had the ExtendCrisp snacks and think they're a good alternative to chips. If you're looking for low-carb protein bars, try Doctor's CarbRite bars. I got them at GNC and like the flavors. They're not all candy bar flavors---they have lemon, and toasted coconut for example.

I ordered the teriyaki Ostrim sticks (Beth said they're pretty good); some of the Extend Chips in the ranch flavor and a few of the Extend bars - chocolate and peanut butter. Wanted to try them first because some of their bars are a little too dense for me and don't sit well in my pouch. I'll have to check out the bars you're talking about - I tend to stick to the Atkins bars - they're really low sugar, high protein and low carb and they have enough flavors to satisfy me - and honestly I've yet to find a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar - probably because I go for the ones that are so low in sugar - my pouch does NOT tolerate sugar at well. The toasted coconut sounds good - I love coconut.
Will be interested to hear how you like the Extend bars. I don't think I've ever seen them. I just looked at one of my CarbRite bars---has 19g sugar alcohols but no sugar. I do like the toasted coconut---it's my favorite of that brand. None of the bars are quite like candy bars, but I get tired of chocolate and peanut butter flavored things, so I'm happy to find bars with fruit flavors.

Try to remember that your body very well may lose a good bit, then you will gain a few back and level off. I was at 120 at my lowest AND I DID look sickly, but I wasn't controlling it, it just happened. Then I settled in to a good weight. Just eat right, get proteins in, and watch carbs.
No suggestions on getting people off your back. I heard a TON of **** from others, and since I had m;y surgery so long ago, it wasn't very common and people really thought I WAS sick. It does take time for others to adjust. But that's thier issue, not yours.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
Geoff, a couple things. You are 10 years older so your skin does not have the elasticity it used to and losing the same amount of weight will look vastly different. Can't really compare the two weight loss times as far as looks goes.
I don't know why it is never mentioned but it is a medical fact that our hormones go through an adjustment period after large weight loss and that effects the water stored in our cells and the cells themselves stretching and contracting. I guarantee that if you stay this same weight for one year you will look different in one year than you do now, maybe even be a size up. You will puff back out a little as your fat stores shift and water shifts etc. All of this is due to hormone levels settling. Your nutritionist should be aware of this "settling".
Now, as long as she doesn't suspect you of muscle wasting from lack of protein or malabsorption of protein I don't know why she'd be worried. Further out you will start to malabsorb as your body settles in to what you are giving it. The same amount of calories and exercise in the second and third years WILL NOT produce the same results it did in the first year and you will possibly bounce up a another size! You have to ramp up the metabolism to keep producing results at that point and doing THAT will also change your saggy factor as bloodflow to the skin and water retention to injured tissue will be in play.
I guess my point is, don't listen to these folks if listening to them stresses you out. Skip a session or 2 and re-evaluate if you want to be in a "toxic" environment. Might be time to move on to a more positive group, maybe one associated with plastic surgery or a sport you like; something futuristic. Move your goal forward.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the feedback.
And yes, they are the Ostrim sticks. They are sooooo awesome. They are much softer than beef jerky and softer than a slim jim, but thicker.
I have been eating the natural flavor ones. I didn't like the barbeque. But today I tried the teriakyi one and WOW, it was unbelievable. I now have a new favorite.
They are really really good!!!
