Update on Me
Hey Liz, hope you get in touch with Dr Brader before Friday to make sure he's in on this - I know he would want to be. Sending big hugs and many prayers your way (and Chris'!) that its just an absorption issue and maybe they can come up with another form of iron to give you to bring your levels and energy back up.
Take care and keep us posted.

Liz, I hope you get this all resolved.
Let me ask a "TMI" question - which you need not answer! Is it possilbe that you have hemorrhoids that may be bleeding? My husband had a long term case which resulted in pretty serious anemia. He knew it was an issue at some level for a while, but had no idea how serious it was until they did surgery. His was located at a point where it was not identified in a sigmoidoscopy OR via colonoscopy...sort of in a little no man's land in between the areas that either test focused on. (See I told you it was TMI).
Anyway, it might be worth them checking a stool sample for blood.

Thank you all for you well wishes, I will keep you posted as things progress.
Lynn - there's no such thing as TMI around here! lol She did a rectal exam today (can we say NOT FUN! Lol) to check for blood in the stool. She didn't see anything but was sending it out anyway. I had thought that of hemrrhoids also since I did just have a baby and brought this up to her. She said that the GI Dr will ask all those questions too. My Mom was also diagnosed with rectal cancer at 50 (3 years ago) which puts me at an increased risk for things like polyps etc (as well as the cancer but we won't cross that bridge until we have to!) so I guess they want to check that out as well.
All in all I just want them to find out what is causing it so we can get to fixing it!

Liz,
I wanted to send you some hugs and know how it feels to have iron issues. I was told on Friday by my primary doctor that my hemoglobin numbers are low and the should let me know by the end of this week what my numbers look like and no amount of iron pills is going to help me with it. Basically that is what he told me I am so hoping that I do not need IV transfusions but I will do what needs to be done for my kids and I know you will too for you family. I love you lots of prayers heading you way.
