Just shoot me now.

I offered to help give a bridal shower for a friend at church. It's a short timeline - the date is Sept. 10.

It will be at the co-hostesses house (thank goodness!) - but I'm wondering what ideas you may have to make it a fun evening. Anyone been to a great shower lately?

A lot of the guests won't know each other - there will be about 25-30 in attendance, most likely.

I'm not too worried about food options for myself, but just want the party to be festive and fun! HELP!!!

Well I'll be going to one on Sunday and will let you know!

My bridal shower they did some games...how well you know the bride and groom to be (how long have they been together?  The color of the groom's eyes...the date of the wedding)...bridal bingo (bingo cards made out with potential gifts...)

At Liz's family baby shower as she was opening gifts they set random timers and when the timer went off whose evere gift she was opening that person got a small "door" prize if you will...

Don't worry - everyone will have a good time based on all being there for the same reason!

The most boring part of wedding/baby showers is watching someone open gifts. For ever...

I read recently that a lot of women are having "unwrapped" showers. Specify on the invitation to please not wrap the gifts, set up a nice gift table and avoid the whole thing. That way everyone can spend more time socializing and playing games.

Been to one recently.....played games such as the cotton ball game.  The person is blind folded and they were a pair of oven mits.  There are 2 bowls one with the cotton balls and one empty.  The person needs to place the cotton balls into the empty bowl as fast as they can for 30 seconds.  The winner is the one with the most.  Also do an ice breaker game so the people can get to know each other that always helps.   Then there are the usual games the toliet paper bride, who knows the bride the best, etc....There are some other ones google bridal shower games you get all kinds....hope this helps...good luck

At the bridal shower we just had for my friend, we switched off games and opening gifts so it kept everyone from getting too bored and gave the bride a break from ooing and ahhing every 2 minutes.

We also made a Birds Nest for her. A nice basket, lined with tea towels and various things. In the center of it, we placed a photo holder that we printed quotes, bible verses and advice on. She ended up placing that on the gift table at the actual reception.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
