Thanks Barix Support

Hi and thank you to everyone at Barix support meeting.  It was good to see some familiar faces.  I needed to hear a lot of what was being shared, and be reminded of the basics, even though I know them.  Kind of like why I go to AA.  I know in my head, but processing it takes time and effort.

Thanks Laureen, Maura, Beth, Lisa, and Karen for the hugs.  Sorry I had to leave early, I was in a lot of pain sitting that long.  Hopefully, it will not be another year or two between my arrival there, and I will get there more often.

Truth is, I am ashamed of my lack of progress, especially when I was drinking and acting out with everything.  It all started when I was 16 months out from surgery, and I have made babysteps to get back on track, slowly.  I can't blame my physical disabilities on it, because my lack of movement does not excuse what I put in my mouth.

Hugs to all of you.  I need you more than I express.

Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

Trish,

I was great seeing you and I wish we'd had more time to chat (and that you weren't in pain!).   i do hope we will see you more often as you have great insights to share with everyone and i think it's a healthy place for you to be as well.

You know that you never need to feel ashamed with us.  We love you no matter whether you're on track or off track.  We'll help you get or stay on track and will support you as you need it.  No judgement - only support.  And the recognition that we are ALL struggling in some way.

HUGS!

It was good to see you today!!! It was a good meeting, with lots of good things to hear!!! Even if you don't get to meetings often, you're very active on the board and very supportive of us!!! Thank you, Trish!!!

Trish,

Sorry that I did not get a chance to say hi to you.  Finally figured out who you were about 1/2 hour into the meeting and saw you getting up to leave early.  Could tell that your back was bothering you.  I did want to introduce myself to you but got to the meeting late today.  Hope to see you at future meetings.  I get the most from people who share their struggles with the group.  I know that you have been through a rough time but I also see you being very faithful to this board and the people on here.  Take care.

Trish,
Sorry I did not make it to the meeting but I applaud your courage to share your struggles. You continue to inspire me and I like what you said. This journey truly is a sprint not a marathon some people get there faster than others. We all know we did not put on this weight in 4 years and it will take us a looong time to get all the head stuff sorted out. Take care Trish and can't wait to see you in the near future.

People comment on my over 100 pound weight loss and attribute it to my WILLpower, but it is my WANTpower: I WANT to be thin and healthy more than anything else!

Barix is an AWESOME place for support - but you already know that!  Glad you made it there, even if for just a little while!!!  Sorry I couldn't get there to say hello!

I am so glad we got to Barix at the same time today so I could finally meet you in person!  It was very important for you to be there to get some much needed support.  You always have great advice on here and I knew you'd be a valuable asset to the meeting.

I hope you are feeling better and hugs are always available!!

It was nice to meet you in person.  The fact that you are making the moves in the right direction, posting and attending support are all things you should be proud of.  No need to say "hopefully", you WILL be there more often.

xoxo,

Sorry I did not get to say hello.  Always remember that getting back on track starts with day one, we all have to make a conscious decision to continue from there.  Baby steps are better than no steps.  There is a lot of demons going on in all of us.  We all have to find a way to tame them, and not pick up new ones, it is different for everyone.  I know you have it in you to get back on track and take it from there.  Sending you strength.

Some days your the dog and some days your the hydrant.
