ok, so I just woke up about 1/2 hour ago.. but I was tossing and turning all night.  I'm not sure why because I was exhausted from the weekend.  Maybe it's because it was the first night since Thursday that I slept alone??  Maybe I should have hugged my pillow like these guys...

Bron on the left, Aron on the right....... twins.. uh huh  LOL

Anyway, I'm so glad I thought ahead and took today off, too.  The weekend was very interesting, but fun all at the same time.  I ended up going to karaoke with a friend I met in Rye Brook at the conference.. Nicole T for those of you who were with me.  We did dinner and then karaoke. It was a blast!!

I had a great weekend food wise.  I had packed all kinds of stuff that I could eat so not only would I not be scrounging for food, I also wouldn't have to shell out big bucks on it.  We had 2 meals that were not out of what I packed.. chinese-- I got shrimp with broccoli--the sauce wasn't the best choice, but better than what I could have ordered.  And when I went out with Nicole, I got steak tacos w/ red beans.. no rice.  I ate a tiny little bit of the tortilla and some of the chips, but other than that did all the protein.

I mentioned something in a post the other day about a wow moment.. well there were actually a couple.  First of all, the ride down... there were 5 of us.. that means 3 people in the back seat.  I was not worried in the least about fitting in the back with 2 other people.  What I didn't expect was to end up being the one sitting in the middle because I am the shortest.  Other than the fact that the middle console from the front extends way too far into the back, I didn't have a problem sitting there at all.  I didn't feel like I was smoooshing anyone at all.

Once we got to the hotel and were settled, every time we went anywhere, we took the stairs to get back and forth to the room.  We were on the SIXTH floor, people.  I went UP the stairs at least 30 times over the weekend.. no lie.. I also went down them, but that's nothing.  My knees starting bugging me after about 20 times but only once we hit the 4th floor each time.  I was only out of breath the times that we had done it a few times in a row for whatever reason.  That was just amazing to me!!!!

Also Thursday night, Bron, Aron and I walked about 1 mile down and back to a club that there friend was going to be at.  I had on wedge heels.. short, but heels all the same.. I had no problem with the walk, hills and all!!

All in all we had a great weekend.  I know the guys had a blast.  For me, it was nice to get away and to spend the weekend with a bunch of great people.

Oh crap.. this is roll call, right.. LOL

Today has me doing laundry, a bit of cleaning around here and then a dentist appointment around 3.  I am meeting with the periodontist to see what the next steps are in fighting the gum disease in my mouth.  I am afraid that I have taken all of the basic steps and may need to have some oral surgery to get rid of the pockets in my gums.. UGH.

Other than that, I will be anxiously waiting by the phone to hear from Larry about Steffi.  I just got off the phone with her and she sounds fantastic.  Her sore throat is better and she is in positive spirits and ready to get this over with!!  I am so excited for her!!!!!  I'll let you all know once I hear something.

I may hit the gym at some point, but we'll have to see if I can stay awake that long.
