****Sleepy Saturday Roll Call****

Good Morning PA, and Eric,
Got off to a good start this morning, but failed to do Roll Call and say "Hello" to you beautiful people.

Today, I already took Utley down to the river for his business, then I ran to my AA meeting.  I was going to hit the hot tub and pool at the gym, but my meds are kicking in, so I hit Giant for some groceries, and came home.

Today is cleaning, cooking and working on birthday projects.  Lincoln turns one year old tomorrow, and I will be seeing him in two weeks.  Must make his birthday presents, plus I have one project to finish for my daughter, whose birthday was a week ago.

Have a safe weekend and enjoy this glorious weather.

Hugs,
Trish

Good afternoon, everyone!

My surgery is Wednesday, and my daughter and I have been doing a lot of planning and preparation.  This morning, we went through the cabinets and cleaned out the things that might tempt me post-op.  We packed everything up for either a food pantry or for my daughter to take to her new apartment at college.  I found myself getting extremely anxious in the middle of the clean out, but I walked away, went into the living room for a bit, scraped my stuff in one pile, and got back at it.  Now I feel a sense of accomplishment.  One step toward food not ruling my life in this way again!

Now I'm going to my parents' home to do their bills and the come home and watch the Phils.  Hope they do better tonight than last night.

Have a great day... 4 days to go!

Hi Kelly! I see Dr. K is your doc. How long will you be in the hospital? I live just 3 blocks from there and would be happy to visit you if you like. My cell is 484-716-2533 if you want to get in touch. I just had surgery there and stayed overnight---can't say enough good about my experience. Everyone was wonderful!!! Good luck to you!!!

Thank you, Julia... I worked there for 24 years in the ER, and the bariatric program coordinator is a very good friend and ex co-worker.  I know I'll get excellent nursing care.  Glad your experience was positive... I chose Phoenixville because I've always love the hospital... from way back when I was in nursing school in the early 80's.  I had done the rounds in Center City because that's where you're "supposed" to go, and nothing clicked.  I'm glad to be going where I'm going.  Thank you so much for the offer of a visit or call... let me see how I'm feeling post op.  I just may take you up on the offer!

Hey, I know Sharon!!!  lol  From Dr. K's meetings, but that counts, right???  This was my first overnight experience in P-ville Hospital, and I was impressed.  Of course, I was in the new section, so I had a private room, but it was so quiet and peaceful.  Loved some of the folks that took care of me.  Absolutely it's ok to see how you're feeling!!!  I'm home recuperating, so I'll be around if you're up to it.  If not, we can check in here on the board or through texts or calls.

Good luck!!!

Hi Kelly!

We have a lot in common!  My surgery is 5 days after you, my son is going off to college next month and I hope the Phils do a lot better than last night too!!!

Good luck to you this Wednesday, I had an anxious night myself.  I have to stop reading stuff on the internet....

Take care and keep us posted,

Deb,

Thank you so much for writing... like you, I'm a nervous wreck!  I just got back from the grocery store stocking up on sugar free popsicles, and my daughter had made one of my favorites... Kraft mac and cheese!  Oh... the temptation!  I'll get through it... she packed it all up and put it away, but man, did I want to dive in!  That stuff is so disgusting... but I love it!  lol

Good luck to you on your surgery, and please keep in touch.  We can compare notes on how we're doing... I've already learned so much on here!

"I have to stop reading stuff on the internet"  - funny - I JUST had a conversation about that very same subject with one of my patients who did some google research on things prior to coming to the ER and by the time he got to us, was absolutely convinced he was going to be dead in the next 20 seconds, lol (who, btw, was discharged home....)
