Here I go !!

Tonight I think I am speaking at the LVH support group.  If I live to get to it...I am a nervous wreck as the time gets closer.  I am trying to just be excited to help other people and not nervous, but inside, I am still the fat girl in the room that does not want have any attention on her.  This is one reason I wanted to do this - therapy to get over my fat girl syndrome! 

Will report back later.  Please come say hello if you are on the board!  Would love to see some faces "in real life"   :) 

Oh Honey - you'll do just FINE!!!  Remember, everyone in the room is there for the same reason, including you!  They're ALL "fat people" whether they look like it on the outside or not, and they've all felt exactly what you're feeling.  Hard to find a more empathetic audience.

Good luck tonight!  I didn't realize it was support group tonight, but I'm working.  If I am out that way, I will stop by.  You'll do great!

It went well.   It was a packed room!  I feel good that I did it.  :)

Sandra, were you speaking with your husband??  I was in the RNY room and they only had one married couple and one other gentleman speak.  If so, you did very well!

Yes, I was speaking and he was standing (mostly) looking cute LOL!  You should have come up to say hello!!  Boy- we felt like celebrities afterwards!!  All the way to the car we were stopped.  And I gave my phone and email to a few people.  It felt really good to help people.  I suggest everyone do it at some point.  I do not really care for the speakers who are only a few months out because they have not experienced everything yet.  I did enjoy the other guy who spoke though- he was quite an inspiration!
