TOUGH MUDDER

So remember that ridiculous obstacle/fitness/try to kill you course up at bear creek (well, it's actually nationwide....) that I said was ridiculous and would never EVER do?

Ok, so I've been kicking this idea around for the past week or so.  2011 dates are NOT out yet.  But for some reason...I had this feeling that I really really REALLY wanted to do it.  But...had a lot of voices in my head telling me I couldn't.

Brought it up to my trainer today...he has heard about it, but didn't know to much about it.  I gave him a quick overview on it...to which, as I was in the middle of a set...he threw more weight onto my bar and said "end of story - you are doing it.  That's your goal.  Print me out **** about it and we'll get you in shape for it"

Sooooo..I'm keeping an eye on the website and am officially "training" for it.

Whose playing????  They STRONGLY suggest teams...to help each other through.  They specifically say the goal is to FINISH, and NOT worry about time.  They stress this is NOT a race, but an obstacle course, and say that you need people surrounding you to help climb etc when it gets really tough.

Anyone?  Anyone?  Why do I hear crickets??  LOL

There are no dates in the area for 2011 listed except for the "finals" which you need to have competed in something this year to do, I believe.  But I'll be keeping an eye out on it and will post info on it when I find info.

It's not only a physical obstacle course, but is designed to make you physically uncomfortable during the event...cold, wet, blah blah blah.

A group from LVH CC ER did it.  They all survived it...but all said it was by far one of the toughest things they had done.

It was in the spring, when it was still cold, up at Bear Creek.

This is the link to the event/obstacles/course info they did this past spring.

There is an event in November of THIS year in Jersey, and I know exactly WHERE in jersey - very close to my in laws. But I KNOW I'm not tough enough for November.

Major training would need to take place before I could do this... but I would LOVE to try!

Yea...I'm TERRIFIED  The obstacles alone...but then there is an outright two mile run in the woods. And we all know how I feel about frigging running.  I know...that's the LEAST of my problems.  Heck..that'll be the easy part of the course I'm guessing....
