Welcome!!! I'm Dr. Boe's patient too......RNY.....June 29th, 2009. I actually have my one year check-up with him tomorrow. He is such a kind and caring doc. I have lost 106 pounds and I feel great. I wish you much luck with your PATS. Hopefully, it will work out and you'll be able to get your surgery in August as planned. My husband also had RNY on the same day as me....but he doesn't come on the OH board...however, he does attend the meetings. He has lost 123 pounds. Hope to meet up with you at Barix meetings. Take care!

hey scot, i did meet you on the Saturday in June.  Cheer up, the PATs are not so bad just some blood work, a chest ex ray, and some breathing tests(you have to take deep breadths and blow out hard. the a doctor comes in and gives you the once over and asks a lot of questions. at least that's how i remember it. the A1C might be a problem but ask if a note from your primary care might clear you. Dr pupkova asked  for a note  from my primary care saying we were working on lowering it. good luck  it is frustrating and long process just to get to the operating table then it is much easier.

Welcome and good luck!  Remind them that the A1C will drop like a rock after surgery!  Hope you are approved to be safe for surgery...

Hi Scot - good to see you on here!  As for the crazy women - I am SURE Norm was NOT talking about me......Right Norm?!?!  Well....maybe I am a LITTLE crazy - but every group needs a little crazy! :)  And I bring some welcome comic relief too - even if I am the only one who thinks so!  Either way - we are SO glad to have another man on here - and ignore any comments from others who will say I am a cougar....how old are you anyway! :)

you don't fall into the crazy category, Stef.  You are the REALLY crazy one he was talking about.
