Hello everyone!  I've been lurking for a while but felt it was time to post since I've met some of you at the Barix meeting last night and at the June Saturday meeting and have had good vibes so far.
Having my PATs next Wednesday (7/21) and although there is only a 50/50 chance of my passing them, I am still committed to keeping on the path with all of you.  Hope to see all of you down the road when I reach the losers bench.

I've noticed that this site is short on men -- I hope I can help to balance the scales.

People comment on my over 100 pound weight loss and attribute it to my WILLpower, but it is my WANTpower: I WANT to be thin and healthy more than anything else!

Welcome!    We didn't meet at Barix..... however, I am Pittsburgher transplanted in the Poconos and thought we should connect.  You see, some of these Philly folks don't understand BLACK AND GOLD!

Good luck with the PAT's.....

Jayne

You are right!  I had to give up Steeler season tix some years ago because of my weight so I am looking forward to visiting the new stadium someday when I can "fit in."

Welcome aboard Scot - like others we haven't had the privilege of meeting yet, but hopefully will some day. I am also a patient of Dr Boe's - about 2 1/2 years post-op and am loving my tool and my new life - I know you will as well!! Dr Boe is an awesome surgeon - follow his instructions and you are going to do wonderfully, and you'll love Barix as well.

Why do you think you only have a 50/50 chance of passing your PATs? Has your insurance approved you for surgery? They should have if you're this close. Talk to us, we'll help out any way we can, or just be here for support.

Kathy

ps: And yes, we're all crazy out here (re Norm's post) - but we're FUN!!

Hi Kathy.  My A1C might still be too high but I've learned what to do now and know it will come down.  I just might need another month or so to make it happen.  I'm approved othewise and my scheduled date is 8/5.
