An old visitor....comes back to stay!
Hello PA Message Board!
I originally joined this board back in the spring of 2008. I had a Realize band placed on 8/1/08 by Dr. Shope at Hershey Medical Center. My starting weight was 240 on my 5'1" frame.
I came through the surgery wonderfully, no complications! I maintained a weight loss of between 17-20 lbs. This spring I start experiencing some unpleasant but tolerable symptoms. I visited Dr. Rogers at Hershey and it turns out I have esophageal dismobilty (sp) and a possible hiatal hernia.
Starting in Sept. I'm going attending 3 sessions which will allow me to have a revision, removing the band and having a bypass. Just wondering if anyone is going through the same issue? I've visited the revision board but I'm looking for more of a 'community' feel.
Best Regards,
Amy

Well, I to never had a band, started as an RNY-er and loved it ever since....
But wanted to welcome you to the board...this place is AWESOME (the pa forum) and you'll definately very quickly get the "community' feel....we're a big ol (somewhat dysfunctional) family!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
Hi Amy - sorry things are not as they should be - however, wanted to welcome you to the PA forum - and I don't KNOW , *insert eye roll here * what that PAMMY is talking about - we have NO drama....NO sarcasm, and certainly are NOT dysfunctional.....well......minus the NO and the NOT anyway! :)
Welcome to PA forum and although I cant answer this question, RNY from the beginning as well, keep on coming over - I am sure there will be plenty of peeps to help you out!
