I'm home!

I had my lap RNY on 4.20.  Came home yesterday.  Had to stay in an extra day as I had some leakage from the one incision site. I'm doing well, just have headaches that don't seem to be helped by the lortab elixir I'm on for pain.  gotta to keep sipping my liquids.

Did you cut out caffeine well before surgery?  the headaches may be from that.  Lortab is a narcotic and some people can actually have "rebound" headaches from taking narcotics.  If you don't need the lortab for your surgical pain, try taking liquid tylenol.  You may have to be careful about that - there is sugar in it (go figure) and there have been rare instances where people have dumped on the damn stuff.  Go figure.

Anyway - so glad you are home keep sipping and walking!

I cut out the caffeine about two weeks prior to surgery.  So, I don't think it's that.  I'm awake now and haven't taken any lortab since 8:30pm last night.  No headache so far.  I hope it stays that way.

You know, you'd THINK they'd make sugar free liquid tylenol?  What about diabetics that can't have sugar?  I'm diabetic(for now).  Don't need any extra sugar.

Well, the headache came back.  With a vengeance.  Have avoided the lortab elixir for now, hoping the headace will pass. 

Anything else I can do?  Pre-op, I'd take an exedrin migraine and be good but I can't take that now as it has aspirin in it.
