3 month appointment
My husband and I had our 3 month appointment today and between the both of us we have lost a whole person! I have lost 51 pounds since December, he has lost 78 . We both are so thrilled with our progress. This is getting a lot easier, just need to find some different things to eat besides chili and chicken. But we are boh doing great and can not wait to see what the future will continue to bring us.
Congrats!!
Do you eat seafood? I like to take peeled deveined raw shrimp sautee in a pan with nonstick spray, a sprinkle of pepepr and garlic powder and finish off with a squeeze of lemon juice.
I absolutely ADORE low fat ricotta with splenda and cinnamon - I swear it tastes like rice pudding. You can add a dollop of ff/sf cool whip for an extra treat.
Polly O string cheese is also a staple
Greek yogurt is a great snack if you add splenda and sf jam or splenda and fresh fruit to it. Or, my personal favorite sf davinci syrups (come in about 50 different flavors) and fruit
Low carb tortillas and shredded chicken with some low fat cheese grilled up in a pan for a low carb quesadilla
Steak marinated in teriaki (sp?) sauce, onion, garlic, and then grilled kept medium or medium well to keep it juicy (sometimes I add some dipping sauce to make sure it stays moist so it doesn't get stuck)
Cauliflower boiled and then mashed with a little butter, roasted garlic (or garlic powder) and shredded cheddar makes a great side instead of mashed potatoes.
Keep an eye out for the posts Liz does after her cooking classes - always GREAT ideas there!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Congratulations to you both!! There is nothing more fun and exciting then reading about peoples successes on here. You are both doing wonderfully!! Take it slow with the food and experiment a little, but beware of things that are doughy and/or tough - at least for me those are things I cannot tolerate even at one year out. And trust me, there are still times when something just won't work but most of the time I do okay.
Keep us posted - great news!!!
